Upon arrival, officers contacted employees who were meeting with late-arriving FSY counselors to distribute keys. The alarm was determined to be related to authorized building access, and no signs of forced entry or suspicious activity were found.
Criminal Mischief Officers responded to Lot 20 on a report of possible criminal mischief involving a vehicle with a shattered rear windshield. The vehicle owner reported that the car had been parked for approximately one week while he was out of town and discovered the damage after moving the vehicle. Due to the extended timeframe, the exact cause and time of the damage could not be determined. Officers advised the owner that available video footage would be reviewed.
Door Alarm BYU Police responded to a violated door alarm at the Marriott Center. Investigation revealed that high winds and rain had caused a roof hatch to blow open. An officer attempted to secure the hatch but was unable to close it due to a malfunctioning key card reader and the hatch not closing manually. Access Services was notified and requested to address the issue as soon as possible.
