Medical The BYU Police Department received a call regarding a medical issue at the MTC, specifically near Building T3. As the officer began to respond to the call, the dispatcher informed him that security supervisors were already on the scene and able to manage the situation.
Parking Problem An officer was contacted by the housing manager at Wyview Park regarding an abandoned Chrysler Concord with registration expired since September 2022. The registered owner no longer resides at the BYU campus apartment complex. Housing management requested the vehicle be removed from the property. In response, the officer tagged the vehicle with a 7-day notice for removal, warning that it would be impounded if not moved within that timeframe.
Information An officer responded to the WSC regarding a boxing match that occurred the previous night at HR, involving two FSY participants. After speaking with the parents of both individuals, it was determined that neither party wished to pursue criminal action. The officer also spoke with the participants, who voluntarily surrendered the boxing gloves to FSY leaders.
Information The BYU Police Department received a report of a possible domestic disturbance at Wymount Terrace. Officers responded to the scene and contacted three individuals inside the residence. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the individuals were playing video games, and the situation had escalated due to loud and overly competitive behavior.
Hit and Run – Accident An officer responded to Lot 4 to meet with the reporting party (RP), a witness to a hit-and-run vehicle accident. The RP, who was picking up his son from a sports camp, observed a silver vehicle backing out of a handicap parking space near the Engineering Building. The vehicle contacted a parked BYU vehicle, causing the parked car to shift upon impact. The case has been referred to investigators.
Medical A report was received regarding an unconscious female FSY attendee at the dance held at the JFSB. Provo EMS and BYU Police responded to the scene. Upon arrival, the patient was found to be conscious, alert, and appeared to be in good condition. After a thorough evaluation on-site, the patient was cleared and released to staff.
Medical The officer was assisting Provo EMS with an unrelated medical call and was informed by FSY staff that another attendee required medical attention. The officer directed EMS personnel to the individual, who was complaining of knee pain. The patient stated that the knee had been dislocated previously but was feeling better, though it still hurt slightly. The patient was treated on-site with an ice pack.
Trespassing An officer responded to east campus for a trespassing. The reporting party witnessed several motorcycles riding in the bowl area and around the parking lot. The suspects were gone on arrival.
Suspicious An officer responded to a report of a suspicious person at the Cone. The reporting party stated that a male had called the business phone, claiming to be a U.S. Marshal. The male requested that the reporting party move to a private location away from others to continue the conversation. The reporting party refused to provide any information to the suspect and instead referred him to law enforcement. At that point, the suspect disconnected the call.
