Citizen Contact An officer was dispatched to investigate a report of suspicious Amazon package deliveries at 15B, WT Housing. Upon arrival, four unopened packages were found placed near the dumpster. Although Amazon tracking information indicated the packages were delivered to the respective doorsteps, the residents—who live at separate locations within WT—denied receiving them at their doors. One package owner reported a missed call from Amazon at approximately 0600 hours but did not answer. WT Housing management contacted all the package owners to retrieve their items. Some of the recipients stated they would follow up with Amazon to file a complaint.
Medical The Police Department and BYU EMS responded to a medical call at the Life Sciences Building (LSB) regarding an individual who had reportedly passed out on the 3rd floor. Upon arrival, the patient was conscious and responsive to questions. BYU EMS conducted a medical assessment and subsequently released the patient, determining no further medical intervention was necessary.
Medical An FSY participant experienced dizziness and lightheadedness after taking a dose of his prescribed high blood pressure medication, Losartan. FSY medical staff noted that he had not eaten, which may have contributed to his symptoms, according to the Provo Paramedic who responded to the call. FSY staff contacted his mother to inform her of the situation. After being assessed by EMS, the participant was released at the scene and cleared to continue participating in FSY activities. Staff planned to take him to the food court to get something to eat, in hopes that it would help alleviate his symptoms.
Medical An officer, BYU EMS, and Provo Fire responded to a medical call at the Wilkinson Student Center (WSC) involving an FSY participant. The patient, who has a history of epilepsy, reported forgetting to take their prescribed medication. After evaluation, the patient was medically cleared and released back to FSY supervision.
Property Damage A vehicle was traveling westbound on Parkway between Lot 49 and the BYU baseball field when a baseball struck its windshield. The ball appeared to have come from the baseball field. The driver safely pulled into Lot 48 and contacted BYU Police. Risk Management has been notified of the incident. A digital photo of the damage has been documented.
Lost Property An officer responded via telephone to a report of lost keys at LVES. The reporting party stated the keys were last seen in a door lock near Room 309. The officer conducted a search and located the keys in Door #L131 at the stadium. The keys were returned to the reporting party’s office.
Medical An officer assisted with a medical call involving a 16-year-old FSY participant who was experiencing episodes of fainting. The student has a known history of POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome), and the symptoms were consistent with her condition. BYU EMS and paramedics were already on scene providing care upon the officer’s arrival. After evaluation, the patient was medically cleared and released back to her FSY group.
Citizen Contact A delayed report was received regarding a two-vehicle accident that occurred on Monday, July 21, 2025, in Lot 2 (Visitor area) in front of the Museum of Art (MOA). The reporting party stated the incident involved minor cosmetic damage and occurred while the other vehicle was unoccupied. A note was left on the other vehicle at the time. The reporting party contacted their insurance provider, who requested a police report. A police incident number was provided.
Welfare Check Officers responded to a report of a male acting suspiciously in the Garden Court area of the Wilkinson Student Center (WSC). The complainant observed the individual walking around and talking to himself, appearing possibly intoxicated or mentally ill. Upon contact, the male did not show signs of intoxication but exhibited behavior consistent with mental health concerns, including claims of employment with the FBI and CIA and an assignment at BYU. While he was not engaged in any illegal activity at the time, he became defensive when asked for identification. Though initially reluctant, he eventually provided his name and date of birth, allowing officers to identify him. A records check revealed prior involvements related to trespassing, resisting arrest, and assaults. The individual was unable to provide a legitimate reason for being on campus and ultimately chose to leave the premises voluntarily.
Unsecured Gate While on patrol at LVES, an officer was advised by dispatch of a suspicious incident involving an open gate near Gate 5. Upon checking the area, the officer located an unsecured man gate adjacent to Gate 5. The officer closed and secured the gate, ensuring it was properly locked.
