Medical An officer and BYUEMS responded to the WSC following a report of a female cyclist who had crashed her bicycle. BYU EMS arrived on scene prior to law enforcement and determined that their medical assistance was sufficient, indicating that law enforcement assistance was not required at the scene.
Criminal Mischief An officer was dispatched to respond to a report regarding vandalism at the men's bathroom located at the Y Trailhead. The complainant reported delayed notification of the incident and provided photographic evidence of the damage, which had already been cleaned prior to the officer's arrival.
Welfare Check Officers responded to the south parking lot of the CONE following a report of children left unattended in a hot vehicle. Upon arrival, officers conducted a search of the area but were unable to locate the children. Dispatch later advised that the vehicle had been captured on camera leaving the parking lot prior to officers' arrival.
Stalking An officer responded to a report of ongoing stalking and met with the complainant to document their concerns. The officer accompanied the complainant to the Title IX office for further assistance. Additionally, the officer met with the suspect, issued an electronic communication harassment warning, and enforced a 10-day temporary ban at the request of BYU Security.
Alarm – Carbon Monoxide The BYU Police Department, BYU EMS, and the Provo Fire Department responded to a residence on WY Mount Terrace following reports of possible carbon monoxide (CO) exposure. The residents, feeling unwell for the past few days, suspected CO poisoning. Provo Fire personnel conducted assessments using CO meters, which indicated no measurable levels of carbon monoxide. BYU EMS evaluated the residents and found no symptoms consistent with CO exposure.
Suspicious Person Officers responded to the WSC regarding a suspicious person seated in the reflection room. The individual is known to law enforcement from prior interactions. Observed talking to themselves, the subject was monitored but did not exhibit any criminal activity. Dispatch was contacted to verify if there were any bans or restrictions on the individual, including campus bans. The subject was observed leaving the WSC area; however, officers did not contact them during the incident.
Sick Person During the event at WSC, a female FSY attendee reported feeling unwell, experiencing symptoms including lightheadedness, panic, anxiety, and thirst. She was conscious, breathing normally, and alert, though appeared pale. Provo EMS responded to provide medical treatment, while BYU police secured the scene for safety. After assessment and on-site treatment, the patient was deemed stable and was released into the care of FSY staff.
