Citizen Contact An officer was dispatched to contact a complainant regarding a potential hit and run incident that may have occurred over the weekend. The complainant was unsure whether the incident took place on campus. Upon review, the officer located the complainant’s vehicle on campus during the specified timeframe and observed no other vehicles in proximity that could have caused damage. The complainant was informed of the findings.
Medical An officer was dispatched to assist BYU EMS with an unconscious patient at the Marriott Center ticket office. Upon arrival, the officer discovered that the individual was conscious and alert. She had become dizzy and lightheaded, leading to a brief fall. EMS responded quickly and assessed her condition, noting low blood sugar and blood pressure levels. The patient was transported to the Marriott Center's first aid office, where EMS provided snacks to help stabilize her, as she had only eaten fruit earlier in the day. Her husband was notified, and after a period of observation and recovery, the patient was released.
Disturbance An officer was dispatched to the Marriott Center in response to a report of an older male acting disorderly at the ticket office after being informed that ROC passes were sold out. The complainant stated the individual became visibly aggravated and refused to step aside when asked, though no threats were made. Officers responded promptly but the male had already left the building and could not be located. Marriott Center staff did not wish to pursue charges and had no identifying information on the individual. Staff were advised to contact police immediately if the male returned.
