Medical An officer and Provo Paramedics responded to the Richards Building Field for a report of a male who had reportedly broken his arm while playing intramural soccer. Upon arrival, paramedics evaluated the injured male, administered pain medication, and transported him to Utah Valley Hospital for further treatment.
Hazardous Condition Officers responded to Cougar Boulevard for a roadway hazard involving rubber traffic cone bases that had been left in the travel lanes following earlier lane-closure work. The items were removed from the roadway to eliminate the hazard. Dispatch was requested to contact the company responsible for the earlier lane closure and advise them to retrieve the remaining equipment left behind.
Medical An officer was dispatched to Heritage Halls on the BYU campus to assist medical personnel with a juvenile experiencing a dislocated kneecap. The injury was reported to be an ongoing medical issue. Provo Paramedics successfully assisted the juvenile in realigning the kneecap.
Theft An officer investigated a delayed theft of a longboard reported stolen from Heritage Halls. Through video surveillance and follow-up investigation, the officer tracked two suspects and identified them using a card swipe record and information provided by a Hall Advisor. Both suspects admitted to taking the longboard, claiming they intended to return it. At the complainant's request, both individuals were cited for theft. The stolen longboard was recovered and returned to the complainant. The case will be forwarded to the Provo City Attorney's Office for review of charges.
Medical Provo Fire, BYU EMS, and a BYU Police officer responded to the Wilkinson Student Center for a medical emergency involving an FSY student experiencing a diabetic episode. The student's father was contacted and remained on the phone during treatment. After the student was stabilized, the father declined medical transport on the student's behalf. He later arrived at the location, took custody of the student, and transported the student home.
Property Damage Officers responded to Helaman Halls on a report of property damage involving two parked vehicles. The investigation determined that a BYU employee opened the door of a BYU-owned vehicle and struck the door of a neighboring parked vehicle, causing damage. The involved parties were provided with the case number.
