Door Alarm An officer responded to Heritage Halls for an interior door left open. The door was located and secured without issue.
Motion Alarm A beam alarm activated in the tunnels near the JFSB parking garage and the Data Center. Officers checked the area and found nothing suspicious. No further alarms were reported.
Door Alarm Officers responded to a door alarm at Heritage Halls. The door was being held open by air pressure, and the area was secure. The tunnel access door was found inoperable despite the key functioning properly. Heritage Halls maintenance staff were notified.
Traffic Offense Officers received a report of a vehicle speeding and driving recklessly near the Creamery and 900 East. Due to a delay between the incident and dispatch notification, the vehicle was no longer in the area when officers arrived.
CO Alarm Officers and Provo Fire responded to a carbon monoxide (CO) alarm that detected a level of 55 parts per million (ppm). Staff from the housing department were on the scene. The cause of the alarm is currently unknown, and no one was home at the time of the incident. The apartment was ventilated, and the alarm was silenced to allow the gas company to conduct further checks.
Information An officer contacted an FSY counselor regarding a delayed juvenile incident involving female participants ripping the backs off each other’s shirts and filming it. The behavior appeared consensual. The counselor was advised to follow FSY policies. No crime occurred.
Robbery Alarm Officers responded to a robbery alarm at the Creamery on Ninth. Employees confirmed the alarm was pushed accidentally. The alarm was reset.
Citizen Contact An officer responded to a found bicycle left unlocked under a tree. Dispatch confirmed it was not stolen. BYU Security impounded the bicycle for being left unsecured and not locked in an appropriate location.
Theft A witness reported seeing a juvenile steal food items from the Cougar Express kiosk in the Wilkinson Student Center. After reviewing camera footage, the juvenile is seen taking an item but returning shortly after to put it back on the shelf. No theft occurred.
Citizen Contact Officers responded to a report of a strange smell in a housing unit. Housing staff and officers checked the area but could not detect any gas‑like odor. Others in the area also reported no smell.
Unsecure Premises While on patrol north of the CSC just before midnight, an officer found a door open and a light on inside of a shed. The shed was checked and found to be unoccupied. The light was turned off, and the door was secured and locked.
