Carbon Monoxide – Alarm A carbon monoxide (CO) alarm activation was reported at Heritage B, units 530 and 529. Officer responded in coordination with Provo Fire. The resident in apartment 530 had already evacuated prior to arrival, while the resident in 529 was contacted and responded to the apartment upon officer contact. Provo Fire personnel checked both units, confirming that (CO) levels were within safe limits. Residents were permitted to re-enter their apartments. Dispatch coordinated with fire technicians, who reset the alarm after officers acknowledged and silenced it. A housing representative also responded to inspect appliances. Enbridge was called to the scene and responded accordingly.
Overdose An officer responded to a call at HR regarding an overdose. Upon arrival, the officer located the FSY participant who had attempted suicide. Provo Fire personnel responded to the scene and transported the individual to UVH for medical evaluation. The subject's parents were notified and arrived at the hospital. A pink sheet was completed for the subject, and the chief was informed of the incident.
Disturbance A police officer responded to reports of fireworks near Helaman Halls housing and the softball fields. Upon arrival, the officer conducted a foot patrol and identified an unsecure premise at the softball fields, which was subsequently secured. No suspicious activity or criminal behavior was observed in the area, nor were any fireworks seen or heard during the patrol. The area around Helaman Halls remained busy with students, but overall, there were no signs of disturbance or unsafe activity.
Medical An officer was dispatched to the Tanner Building to assist Provo Fire with an FSY participant who had fainted. FSY counselors informed the patient's father of the incident. Provo Fire personnel evaluated the patient on-site. The patient's father stated he was on his way from Eagle Mountain to pick up his daughter.
Breathing Problem A 16-year-old female FSY student was reported to be unwell and became non-responsive. Medical personnel assessed the patient and found her vital signs to be normal. After contacting her mother, the medical team transported her to the hospital for further evaluation.
