Theft The BYU Police Department received a report of a stolen black Specialized Rockhopper bicycle from the Botany Ponds bike rack. The owner stated she parked it on July 29 and discovered it missing on August 7. The bicycle was entered into NCIC. No surveillance footage has been located as of yet.
Accident A parked vehicle was struck by a riding lawn mower at the Motion Picture Studio Building in Provo. An accident report was taken, and owner/driver information was exchanged.
Accident Officers responded to a minor accident in the east parking lot of the Central Heating and Cooling Building. The complainant, driving a BYU work truck, clipped the rear of another BYU‑owned truck while turning out of a stall.
Juvenile Problem Officers responded to the Wilkinson Student Center for a juvenile problem. A male juvenile bumped his rear end into two female juveniles while dancing. Counselors observed the behavior and reported it. Parents of both females declined a criminal investigation. The male was separated and advised his behavior was unacceptable.
Gas Smell Officers responded to Wyview Park for a gas smell inside an apartment. Provo Fire checked for carbon monoxide, which tested negative, but a distinct natural-gas odor was present. BYU Housing and Enbridge Gas were notified to inspect the apartment's appliances.
Unconscious Officers responded to a medical call involving an FSY participant who passed out due to heat and dehydration. Provo Fire assessed the juvenile and provided water. Attempts to contact parents were unsuccessful. During the call, another FSY participant also passed out and was assessed by Provo Fire. Fire personnel cleared the second incident before officers made contact with the patient.
Carbon Monoxide Alarm Officers responded to a CO alarm at a Wyview Park apartment. Provo Fire found readings of 50 ppm throughout the unit. No injuries or symptoms were reported. BYU Housing and Enbridge Gas were notified to inspect for possible issues.
