Trauma
An officer responded to the walkway south of the Bell Tower where an FSY student had a shoulder injury that he believed was a broken collarbone. Provo Fire and EMS responded and assessed the FSY student. The FSY counselor contacted his parents, and he was transported to the Utah Valley Hospital by Provo EMS for further treatment.
Harassment
An FSY student said he felt harassed after another boy had taken pictures of him while he was using the toilet. The other individuals involved threatened to share the digital images, and video on social media. The Officer met with both juveniles involved and spoke by phone with the mother of the juvenile. Both boys are friends and have resolved their differences. The incident was taken care of by the officer on-scene. This case will be reviewed by investigations.
Traffic Accident
This case was a follow up to an accident in Provo City involving the Provo Police Department. An A/C unit was also damaged in the accident and needed to be documented.
Traffic Accident
Provo Police were responding to a call for officers to expedite on a foot pursuit. Officers arrived and parked facing westbound in the parking lot. Another officer was facing northbound in the parking lot, on the north side. A third vehicle was unoccupied. Another officer was coming to assist, was traveling too fast to stop and collided into a Provo police car which pushed it into another police vehicle. Several vehicles were damaged. Provo Police asked that we assist with the investigation.
Information
An Officer made telephone contact with a professor at BYU who had received a concerning letter addressed to his office. The letter pertains to an ongoing problem with a male adult who has been stalking his adult daughter. The letter contains three pages of poorly written English requesting that the complainant give him his daughter's information. This case is related to a Provo Police case and will be referred to their case as an information report.
Trespassing
Officers were dispatched to the North University Fields for a report of two males trespassing. Officers met with the individuals who agreed to leave the field. Officers educated the males on proper usage of the fields and advised them how to get permission. Officers also gave the individuals information on which BYU fields are accessible for BYU students to use without being scheduled in advance.
