Disturbance
An officer was dispatched to the Riviera Apartments following a report of loud noise at the pool. Upon arrival, no individuals were present in or near the pool area. The complainant was unable to identify the whereabouts of the loud individuals. The Dispatch Center confirmed that surveillance cameras at Riviera were not operational at the time of the incident.

Information
BYU Security dispatch responded to a door alarm at Helaman J Hall. Upon reviewing surveillance footage, a group of males was observed, with one individual apparently pulling down his pants while another recorded the act. A police officer was dispatched to the scene and identified the individuals through still images provided by security. No parties chose to press charges, and no further action was taken.

Keep the Peace
Officers responded to the Richards Building to assist a complainant regarding an individual who had been frequently sleeping in the south lobby. The BYU security sergeant was unavailable at the time. Upon arrival, officers met with a building administrator who was unaware of the ongoing issue. The administrator spoke with the individual sleeping on the couch and assured officers he would address the situation and coordinate with the individual directly. The officers provided support during the interaction. The administrator committed to contacting BYU security in the future if similar issues arise.

Fire – Alarm
An officer responded to a fire alarm activation in the Life Science building’s animal laboratory. Upon arrival, the officer met with building administrators outside the lab, who explained that an employee was mopping inside and unintentionally triggered the alarm by hitting the ceiling. The administrator escorted the officer to the nearby control panel, where the officer silenced the alarm to restore ventilation for the animals. A BYU electrician arrived and confirmed that the alarm had been cleared.

Assist Agency
An officer was tasked with following up with a California police officer in San Luis Obispo regarding a potential stolen trailer linked to BYU. The California officer provided a VIN number, which indicated that the trailer was last registered to BYU in 2001. Further verification was obtained from BYU Motorpool, confirming that the trailer had been sold to Dougway Proving Grounds in 2001. This information was relayed back to the California officer, and no further assistance was requested.

Accident
An officer responded to a traffic accident at 800 North 500 East in Provo. The incident occurred when a vehicle, stopped at the crosswalk to allow pedestrians to cross, was struck from behind by another vehicle, resulting in vehicle damage.

Welfare Check
Officer responded to assist security regarding a male subject, approximately in his 30s or 40s, described as bald with sunglasses on his head, wearing a gray T-shirt, dark pants, and carrying dark bags. The individual was reportedly yelling about the Bible, exhibiting unusual movements and erratic behavior. The subject was observed outside in the parking lot before entering an Uber and leaving the area.

Medical
BYU Police and Provo Fire responded to the Joseph F. Smith Building following a report of a juvenile female experiencing a medical issue. Upon arrival, the patient explained that her symptoms were related to her menstrual cycle. EMTs evaluated her on the scene and determined no treatment or hospital transport was necessary.

Medical
An officer was dispatched to Heritage Halls, near Building 12, to assist Provo Fire with a FSY attendee who reportedly fainted. Upon arrival, the officer coordinated with Provo Fire as they attended to the patient. A FSY counselor communicated with the patient's parent to inform them of the incident. After evaluation, both the patient and parent waived further treatment, and Provo Fire did not transport the patient to the hospital.

Fireworks
A police officer responded to the area north of Heritage Building 07 following a report of juveniles lighting fireworks. Upon arrival, the officer was informed by dispatch that the group of male juveniles had dispersed. The officer spoke with the reporting parties and an FSY counselor, who stated that the juveniles had run into Heritage Building 10 after igniting a small ground sparkler. The FSY counselor confirmed that the juveniles had been addressed by FSY staff, a report was filed, their parents notified, and the juveniles were picked up and left campus. The officer observed no damage to BYU property or remnants of the firework.
