Fire Alarm BYU Police responded to a fire alarm at the MTC. Upon arrival, all occupants had safely evacuated. The officer and MTC Security conducted a walkthrough of the building and determined there was no fire or other hazard causing the alarm. The alarm was then silenced, and dispatch was notified. Dispatch advised that the electrical shop would respond to reset the alarm system.
CO Alarm An officer responded to a carbon monoxide alarm at Wymount Terrace. Provo Fire also responded and found the apartment unoccupied. After investigating, responders determined the carbon monoxide detector was over 10 years old and had activated due to age-related issues. No elevated carbon monoxide levels or other gas hazards were detected. The outdated detector was deactivated and will need to be replaced.
Welfare Check Officers responded to a report of a suspicious male inside the Harold B. Lee Library after a citizen observed him acting unusually and interacting with security personnel. Security staff also noted the male's odd behavior. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the individual.
Welfare Check Officers responded to a welfare check request from a mother who was concerned about her 17-year-old daughter after being unable to reach her by phone and learning that she had missed her flight back home. Officers located and contacted the daughter, who appeared to be in good spirits and showed no signs of distress.
Robbery Alarm An officer responded to a distress alarm at the CONE. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the alarm had been activated accidentally. The alarm was reset, and normal business operations resumed.
