Medical Officers responded to the Cannon Center regarding an elderly individual who had fainted. The patient was evaluated on scene by Provo Fire personnel and was released after assessment. Helaman Halls staff assisted the individual back to their room to rest for the evening.
Trespassing Officers responded to the West Campus auditorium on a report of a possible trespasser. Custodial staff confirmed through their supervisor and the building manager that no one was authorized to use the auditorium at that time. Officers contacted a subject inside who was watching a movie. The subject stated he was a film student who had previously used the auditorium and entered without permission. The subject left the building without incident.
Duress Alarm Officers responded to a panic alarm at the Marriott Center ticket office. Upon investigation, an employee reported they had accidentally activated the alarm while adjusting their chair and were unaware of the panic button's location. The alarm was determined to be accidental, and it was subsequently reset.
Medical An officer responded to the Music Building for a report of an injured Education Week participant who had fallen on the sidewalk. BYU EMS and Provo Paramedics responded to the scene, provided first aid, and evaluated the individual's injuries. After being assessed and treated, the participant was released at the scene.
Medical Officers responded to the Marriott Center for a female experiencing lightheadedness and chest pain after walking from Heritage Halls. BYU EMTs evaluated the patient, and Provo Fire was requested for further assessment. As a precaution, the patient was transported to a local hospital for additional medical evaluation.
Traffic Stop An officer observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation near University Parkway and 900 East and conducted a traffic stop. During the investigation, the officer determined that the driver had never been issued a driver's license. The driver was cited for the driver's license violation and issued a warning for the observed traffic violation. The vehicle was impounded.
