Medical An officer responded to the Eyring Science Center following a medical call involving an adult female who had fallen on the sidewalk outside the building. BYU EMS assisted her, applying a bandage to her arm and assessing her condition. After evaluation, she was released with no further action required.
Medical BYU Police responded to the ITB regarding an employee experiencing a medical issue after reportedly passing out and acting abnormally. Upon arrival, the male individual became belligerent and uncooperative, initially refusing treatment from Provo Fire/EMS. After discussions involving his supervisor—who was also the reporting party—the employee became more cooperative, rescinded his refusal, and allowed evaluation. He declined ambulance transport but chose to accompany the reporting party to the hospital.
Medical On August 21, 2025, at 0934 hours BYU police and EMS responded to a medical call at a shuttle stop on campus near the Broadcast Building. BYU EMS treated and released the patient prior to officer arrival.
Medical An officer responded to the Richards Building to assist a minor experiencing a seizure. BYU EMS and Provo Fire personnel arrived promptly, evaluated, and treated the patient. The patient's mother, who was on campus at the time, explained that the seizures are related to panic attacks. After receiving treatment, the minor was released into the care of his mother by Provo Fire personnel.
Information BYU Police responded to the Y Trailhead at the request of the US Forest Service (USFS) regarding a drone operation in the area. Due to a current drone restriction in place while firefighters utilize aircraft nearby, officers coordinated with a USFS representative who provided details about the drone flight and the pilot’s coordinates. However, the drone pilot had already left the scene before law enforcement or USFS personnel arrived, and authorities were unable to locate the individual responsible.
Medical An officer responded to the Richards building to assist an adult female who had a cut on her toes. The patient was in a wheelchair and was unable to clean the cut and place on the bandage. BYU EMS arrived and treated the patient.
Lost Property An Education Week attendee reported losing their wallet while on campus. An officer took the report and advised the attendee to contact the university's lost and found.
Property Damage An officer from the Dispatch Center was assigned to contact a BYU Education Week attendee regarding property damage to his bicycle. The complainant reported that BYU Security had impounded his Felt road bike earlier that day. Upon its return at approximately 6:00 p.m., the bike exhibited several damages: a scratched front carbon fork, a broken derailleur, and misaligned handlebars. The complainant stated he had left the bike on the east side of the Tanner Building without locking it to a bike rack and valued the bike at around $1,800. He inquired whether BYU Security would cover the repair costs. Photos of the bike and the damage were attached to the report. The case will be forwarded to Investigations for review and then forwarded to BYU Security for further action.
Citizen Contact Dispatch received a report of a female in a wheelchair who was purportedly pinned in the doors of the elevators at Budge Hall. Provo Fire and BYU Police responded to the scene. Upon arrival, a police officer determined that the female was not actually pinned but was attempting to maneuver her wheelchair out of the elevator with the doors held open by another individual. The female stated she had spent over 30 minutes trying to exit. Security footage reviewed by dispatch confirmed the incident. The female sustained no injuries but expressed concerns about the building’s accessibility for individuals in wheelchairs. The BYU Elevator technician was notified to address the issue.
