Fire – Alarm
A fire alarm was triggered at the LSB, signaling an alert in the first-floor animal holding area. No signs of fire or smoke were detected, and the alarm was promptly silenced. A technician responded to investigate, inspecting the affected area and determining that the alarm activation was likely caused by a faulty sensor. The technician advised that a replacement sensor would be installed to resolve the issue.

Medical
A BYU employee reported a male individual who appeared very pale and possibly fainted. The individual was found in the bathroom, where medical personnel responded. He showed signs of having possibly lost consciousness but did not fall and sustained no injuries. The male attributed his symptoms to something he had eaten. Medical staff transported him to the First Aid station for monitoring and assistance. No further help was required.

Welfare Check
The BYU Police Department received a report indicating the presence of an individual inside the Engineering Building who appeared to be transient and possibly experiencing a mental health issue and was not authorized to be there. Upon arrival, officers observed that the individual had already exited the building through the south entrance and was no longer on the premises.

Citizen Contact
Officers responded to the Music Building to assist a building care staff member with a student who was playing his tuba in the hall after hours. The student was found outside the building, working on a school project for his marching band class. He explained he had a rough day as they are preparing for the upcoming football season. The student’s glasses had been left inside the building after it closed, so an officer escorted him inside to retrieve them.
