Found Property
An officer responded to a complaint regarding a found bicycle permit. The permit was handed over to BYU Parking, who confirmed that they had recently issued a replacement permit to the student after the original was lost. The original permit was collected by BYU Parking for reissuance.

Threats
The BYU Police Department received a tip from an individual regarding a potential threat aimed at BYU. The concern was prompted by TikTok videos showing someone urinating on the Helaman Hall sign and the BYU cougar statue near LVES, accompanied by a caption stating, "None of the dorms are safe come tomorrow." Originally reported this morning, the videos have since gained additional views. The case has been forwarded to the investigative team for further follow-up.

Theft
An officer responded to a report from a student regarding a missing bike. The student explained that her bike had been stolen a week earlier from the bike rack north of the West View Building. She had contacted BYU security, who attempted to locate the bike but were unsuccessful. The BYU Security Supervisor indicated that recently tagged bikes not removed are taken to a designated storage location for abandoned bikes on campus. The officer checked all storage areas but was unable to find the bike. The student stated her bike was not registered on campus and could not provide details such as make, model, or serial number. An attempt to review surveillance footage was hindered by the rooftop of the new bike area, which obstructed the camera’s view.

Suspicious
The BYU Police Department received delayed reports of a suspicious individual near the botany ponds. Described as a white male in his 20s, approximately 6 feet tall with a slender build, blonde hair styled in pigtails, and a beard, the person was reported about 15 minutes before officers arrived. By the time police responded to the scene, the individual had already left the area.

Theft
An officer contacted a student by phone regarding a reported stolen bike from Wymount Terrace. The student stated that he last saw the bike on August 14, 2025, between buildings 17C and 16E. Upon returning to campus for the new school session, he discovered the bike was missing and the lock had been cut. There are no surveillance cameras around the bike racks at Wymount Terrace 17. The student also mentioned that he did not register the bike and does not possess the serial number.

Information
A scooter stolen from the Smithfield house was recovered by an officer after being described to the owner. The officer located the scooter inside the equipment room door on the southeast corner of the Smithfield house. To confirm ownership, the owner entered his password, successfully accessing the scooter. The scooter was then returned to its owner, with no further action taken.

Suspicious Person
On September 2, 2025, at 2302 hours, officers responded to the MTC following a report of a suspicious person dressed in black observed on the sidewalk across from the Northeast delivery entrance. Officers conducted extra patrols in the area, during which the sprinklers activated where the individual was last seen. The suspect had already left the scene prior to the officers' arrival.
