Theft An officer took a report of a stolen bicycle after the complainant discovered her bike had been taken from the Heritage 5 bike rack. The complainant stated the bicycle, described as a small black foldable e-bike with a rear basket, had been left unsecured and unlocked at the rack. The complainant was unable to provide a serial number and had limited identifying information for the bicycle. The case is under investigation.
Welfare Check An officer responded to a report of a suspicious male at the Harold B. Lee Library. The complainant reported an older male, described as appearing homeless, walking around the library and possibly looking through people's bags. The subject had left the building more than 15 minutes before officers were notified. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate him. The subject was described as a male in his 60s wearing a dark gray or green trench coat, dark pants, and an orange baseball cap.
Fire Alarm An officer responded to a fire alarm at the Bean Museum in room 2106. Upon arrival, construction crews working in the area advised that they had accidentally activated the alarm. The alarm was reset, and officers cleared the call after determining there was no emergency.
Accident An officer was dispatched to take a possible accident report by phone. The reporting party stated they believed they had accidentally backed into a parked vehicle in Lot 46, causing damage. The complainant left a note on the vehicle with their contact information for the owner to call. The officer will follow up with both vehicle owners.
Found Person An officer responded to a report involving two young girls, ages six and seven, who were dropped off by a school bus at the Wyview Park Apartments. This was the second consecutive week the children had been left at the bus stop without a family member present. The family was contacted and immediately sent someone to pick up the girls.
Accident An officer met with the complainant regarding damage to her vehicle in Lot 39, west of the Richards Building. The complainant stated she parked her vehicle near the center of the lot at approximately 0900 hours and discovered damage to the driver's side rear wheel well when she returned. The officer photographed the damage. The complainant believed she had parked next to a black truck but was unable to provide a make, model, or additional identifying information.
Trespassing An officer was dispatched to Lot 39 regarding a report of individuals smoking in the area. The reporting party, a student's parent, contacted police with the concern. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate anyone matching the report.
Trespassing MTC An officer responded to a report from MTC security regarding an individual near the west side of the property who was reportedly throwing items over a fence. Officers arrived and checked the area but were unable to locate the individual. No further action was taken.
