Officers contacted the construction workers, who explained they were cleaning up after completing roof work. The on-site supervisor stated the crew had been working since 1700 hours and was preparing to leave for the evening. No suspicious activity was identified, and no further police assistance was needed.
Fire Alarm An officer was dispatched to the Benson Building for a fire alarm. While responding, security advised that alarm testing was being conducted in the building. The call was determined to be related to the testing, and the officer was canceled prior to arrival.
Fire Alarm An officer responded to a fire alarm at Wymount Terrace. Contact was made with the residents, and no smoke, fire, or other hazards were observed. The alarm was reset, and housing personnel advised they would respond to the location within the hour. No further action was required.
Lost Property An officer took a lost property report at the Benson Building after a departmental key audit revealed several missing department keys. The officer documented the lost keys, completed a report, and provided the complainant with a case number for reference.
Citizen Contact A female came to the police department front desk seeking information regarding an ongoing stalking case being investigated by Orem Police. Officers spoke with her about the situation and provided guidance. She was also put in contact with the victim advocate associated with the Orem Police Department for additional assistance and resources.
Theft An officer received information regarding the theft of a bike trailer near Building 21 at Wyview Park. The officer contacted the complainant, took a theft report, and provided a case number for reference. The incident was documented for further investigation.
Agency Assist An officer was dispatched to assist medical personnel with a female who had fallen while roller skating on the sidewalk between the Tanner Building and the Jesse Knight Building on BYU campus. The patient appeared to have only minor injuries and was evaluated by medical personnel before being released.
Welfare Check An officer responded to the Botany Pond on BYU campus to conduct a welfare check on a male who was reportedly yelling at himself and appeared to be in distress. After locating the individual, the officer found that he was unable to provide accurate identifying information. Further investigation revealed that the male was autistic and that a caregiver was attempting to find parking to meet him at the pond. The officer remained with the male until the caregiver arrived and took over his care,
Theft An officer responded to a report of a stolen e-bike from a campus bike rack. The complainant discovered the theft and reported that surveillance footage showed an unknown male and female cutting the bike lock and stealing the e-bike. The suspects were seen traveling westbound through campus before heading southbound on University Avenue. A report was completed, and the case was referred to Investigations for further follow-up.
Duress Alarm Officers responded to the HBLL South Security Desk on a panic alarm. The security employee was not aware they had pressed the button under the desk. The alarm was able to be reset.
Medical Officers responded with BYU EMS on a fall patient. The patient was riding on an electric scooter and fell off by Heritage Building 12. The patient sustained minor injuries that were treated on scene then released.
Welfare Check Officers responded to assist a student who had initiated a Safe Walk and subsequently disconnected from BYU Dispatch. Officers were able to locate and contact the individual, confirming that she was safe and did not require further assistance. The incident was resolved without further action.
