Trespassing Officers responded to Helaman Taylor Hall after a report of a suspicious male knocking on a door after hours. The complainant did not answer, and the male left. Officers checked the building and surrounding area but did not locate anyone who should not have been there.
Alarm held open Officers responded to the Marriott Center for a held‑open door alarm at the catwalks. A construction worker in the area showed officers a message sent to BYU Security indicating the door would be propped for several hours.
Information An officer contacted a complainant who reported being struck by a bicyclist in a crosswalk. Both individuals fell, and the bicyclist left the scene. The complainant had minor injuries and declined medical attention. His laptop was damaged. The incident occurred on 800 North, a Provo City street, and the complainant required no further assistance.
Fraud A distribution service used by BYU was hacked, allowing a fraudulent party to change bank account information and redirect payments. Approximately 22 payments were sent to the fraudulent account over three months. No suspects have been identified at this time.
Vehicle Theft Officers contacted a male regarding his stolen motorized scooter, last seen parked at Heritage Halls on 09/14/2026. The scooter was missing when he checked today. There is no suspect information. The vehicle was listed in NCIC.
Door Alarm Officers responded to the JRCB for a door alarm. Students studying late had left a stairway door open when leaving. The door was secured.
