Suspicious Circumstance Officers responded to a report of unattended bags in the lawn area north of the ROTC Building. Upon arrival, the officer located a gym bag and a backpack containing personal property; however, no identification was found. Based on prior contacts and knowledge that military cadets were exercising in the area, the officer believed the bags likely belonged to one of the cadets and left them in place. The officer returned later in the morning and found that the property had been retrieved.
Accident – Hit and Run Officers responded to a reported hit-and-run accident in the north parking area of Heritage Halls Lot 23. The complainant provided details about the incident location, photographs of the vehicle damage, and additional information to assist with the investigation. Officers conducted an investigation and reviewed available surveillance footage; however, the suspect vehicle was not identified. The case remains documented, and no further leads were developed at this time.
Accident – Hit and Run Officers responded to a delayed hit-and-run report in Lot 45. The complainant reported parking her vehicle in the lot at approximately 2320 hours on September 20, 2026, and discovered damage to it when she returned at approximately 1105 hours on September 21, 2026. The case is under investigation.
Medical Officers responded to the BYU Creamery on a report of a female employee who had fainted while working at the register. Medical personnel were dispatched and evaluated the employee at the scene. After assessment, she was transported to the hospital by Provo Ambulance for further care.
Accident An officer responded to a vehicle accident at LaVell Edwards Stadium. The driver reported that while turning between the support pillars near Gate 3, the vehicle traveled too close to a pillar and collided causing minor damage to the passenger-side rear fender flare. The pillar sustained a mark but no damage. This was a minor accident, and photographs of the damage were taken and attached to the report.
Information Officers were requested by the BYU Victims Advocate to contact a female student experiencing a crisis related to a past dating incident. The officer met with the student and learned the matter had been investigated and documented by Title IX in December of the previous year. This information will be followed up further.
Suspicious An officer was dispatched to the parking lot at LaVell Edwards Stadium on a report of a transient female who appeared confused and in need of assistance. The officer located the female walking on a public sidewalk and contacted her to determine if she needed help. The female stated that she did not require assistance and continued on her way. The officer observed that she appeared able to walk without difficulty and seemed to know where she was going.
Accident Officers responded to a report of a traffic accident in Lot 45. The collision was determined to be non-reportable, and no injuries were reported.
