Suspicious Circumstance Officers responded to a report of three individuals checking doors at campus buildings. The individuals were reportedly seen entering the MARB and leaving shortly afterward. Officers located, contacted, and identified the subjects. One individual stated he would be attending BYU during the winter semester and wanted to look at the classrooms. No criminal activity was observed. The individuals were advised not to enter campus buildings late at night and subsequently left the area.
Medical Officers responded with Provo Fire to a report of a seizure patient at Heritage Building 13. The patient canceled medical assistance prior to responders' arrival. Due to the cancellation, no room number or identifying information was available, and the caller did not answer return calls from dispatch. Officers checked the building and surrounding area but were unable to locate anyone in need of assistance.
Medical Officers responded to the library on a report of an individual experiencing breathing difficulty. Security personnel made initial contact with the individual, and medical personnel arrived shortly afterward to provide care. Officers cleared the call while medical personnel continued assessing and treating the patient.
Medical Officers responded to the South Campus Office Building on a report of an individual experiencing symptoms consistent with a possible stroke. Medical personnel made initial contact with the patient and began providing care. Officers arrived on scene and remained while medical personnel assessed and treated the individual.
Medical Event An officer was dispatched to the Life Science Building to assist medical personnel with an individual who was not feeling well. Medical personnel responded, evaluated the individual, and determined that transport was not necessary.
Robbery Alarm Officers responded to a robbery alarm at the south front counter of the Creamery on Ninth East. Dispatch reviewed surveillance footage and advised responding officers that normal business operations appeared to be taking place inside the store. Officers contacted an employee, who stated she may have accidentally activated the alarm by resting her hands near the alarm button. Officers reset the alarm, confirmed with dispatch that it had been cleared, and then cleared the scene.
Medical Officers and BYU EMS responded to a medical call at the Conference Center after a patient reportedly passed out during a class. EMS evaluated the patient, who stated she had recently been assessed for the same issue and was feeling fine. The patient declined medical transport and advised she wished to remain at class.
Accident Officers responded to a two-vehicle collision in a parking lot. The investigation determined that one vehicle was backing out of a parking stall while another vehicle was driving through the lot, resulting in a collision. No injuries were reported, and both vehicles sustained only minor damage. The parties involved exchanged information, and the incident was documented.
Reckless Driver Officers responded to a report of a reckless driver near the traffic circle on East Campus Drive. The vehicle was reported to have driven through the traffic circle at a high rate of speed and subsequently failed to stop for a red light before turning right and stopping in Lot 4. Officers contacted the complainant and reviewed surveillance footage, which confirmed the driver failed to stop at the red light. The driver was later located and identified. After speaking with the driver, officers issued a verbal warning regarding unsafe driving behavior.
