Door Alarm An officer responded to a door alarm at the LaVell Edwards Stadium. Staff were preparing for the Rocky Mountain Band Competition and told dispatch the door would remain open for a few more hours until the event ended. Employees notified BYU Security Dispatch once the event ended and the door was secured.
Gas Smell Provo Fire and BYU Police responded to a report of a natural‑gas smell in a science building. Officers found no odor or evidence of any gas. Students returned to the area without incident.
Citizen Contact An officer contacted a reporting party by phone regarding a hit‑and‑run. Video showed vehicles parked near the complainant’s car, but it showed no indication of contact. Officers advised the reporting party of the findings.
Trauma Officers and Provo Fire responded to a student who fell down stairs in their dorm. The student’s foot gave out, causing an ankle injury. Fire personnel applied ice and a splint, and family transported the student to a medical facility.
Lost Property An individual flagged down an officer after finding another student's property on campus. With dispatch assistance, officers identified the owner, contacted them, and reunited them with their property.
Unconscious Officers, BYU EMS, and Provo Fire responded to a medical call at Heritage Halls. The patient, who had a preexisting medical condition, was evaluated and cleared without being transported to the hospital.
