Suspicious BYU Police responded to a report east of the MTC regarding a male individual who was walking through the area exhibiting signs of possible intoxication, including loud behavior and suspicious conduct. Despite additional patrols by BYU PD and Provo units, the individual was not located. He was last seen walking east toward Rock Canyon by the complainants.
Medical An officer and Provo Fire responded to a medical incident at the RB. The patient, who had been riding a stationary bike, experienced lightheadedness and decided to step outside for air. While walking out of the room, the patient fainted and fell, hitting their head. Provo Fire assessed the patient and medically cleared them.
Suspicious A law enforcement officer responded to the MARB after reports of a suspicious package left in a classroom. Upon inspection, the officer opened the package and discovered it contained 36 three-ring binders. Contact was made with a local bishop, who had left the binders at the school following Sunday church services. The bishop has arranged to return later this morning to retrieve the items.
Information A police officer responded via phone to a possible bike theft report at the bike rack on the east side of JKB. The complainant provided a photo of the bike, which the officer verified by locating the locked bike at the scene. The officer then sent a photo of the bike back to the complainant, who confirmed it was theirs and advised they would retrieve it.
Threatening An officer contacted a complainant, a Lieutenant Colonel with BYU ROTC, who had previously forwarded information via email concerning an individual making threatening statements directed at the Utah National Guard. Due to the nature of the threat toward Army ROTC personnel, cadets were advised not to wear their uniforms as a precaution. The case is currently under investigation to determine the credibility and scope of the threat.
Information An officer responded to the TNRB to meet with the complainant, who expressed concern about a subject whose partial underwear was visible. The complainant indicated that this behavior was against the Honor Code. The officer inquired whether the subject was placing their hands inside their underwear; the complainant was unsure. After an observation, the officer did not witness any criminal violation.
Theft An officer took a phone report of a theft that occurred in the Information Technology Building over the weekend. The officer documented the theft and provided the complainant with a case number. The case is under investigation.
Accident A police officer responded to a delayed auto-pedestrian accident at the crosswalk between the IT and Philanthropy Buildings. Both parties checked on each other and then left the scene. The pedestrian contacted their parents, who requested an official accident report. Dispatch reviewed footage of the incident but was unable to identify any license plate details on the vehicle involved. The pedestrian declined EMS assistance but reported experiencing minor leg pain.
Lost Property A BYU police officer responded to a report from a man who had left his phone at BYU Miller Park. The officer met the individual near the park's main entrance on the north side, then escorted him into the ballpark to the bleachers, where he was last seated, to retrieve his phone.
