Gasoline Smell A strong gasoline or chemical odor was reported by Resident Assistant in the dorm. The dorm was inspected, but officers were unable to detect the smell. One resident mentioned feeling nauseous due to the odor, prompting the dispatch of the Provo Fire Department. Firefighters also could not identify the smell, and their equipment did not register any hazardous levels. The source of the odor remains unknown, but there is no apparent danger at this time.
Information A police officer responded by phone to a complainant who reported that a relative had inquired about them on campus. The complainant stated that they are estranged from this relative and do not wish to have any contact. When asked if the relative possesses information the complainant does not want shared, the complainant confirmed they have not spoken with the relative. The complainant agreed to send an email or text to formally communicate their desire to avoid contact. There are no protective orders or stalking injunctions in place. Victims' advocates provided the complainant with information regarding stalking injunctions for future reference
