Police Beat • 10/14-16/2022

Alcohol Offense
Upon arrival, contact was made with the reported individuals. Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were conducted on the designated driver and found to be okay to operate a motor vehicle. An adult female involved in this incident provided false personal ID to officers. The female was also found to have active misdemeanor warrants. The female was issued a citation for providing false information and was advised on the warrants.

Theft
Officer took a delayed theft report of two Cornhole boards. The owner left them in the bushes and when he returned, they were gone. There are no suspects at this time.

Trespassing
Students were seen in the tunnels. This report will be completed after further investigation and contact has been made with all students involved.

Y-Medical
The patient was treated and then transported home by Provo Paramedics. During the incident a female student began feeling like she was going to pass out. BYU EMS treated and released her on scene.

Disturbance
Three individuals in Lot 45 were attempting to get event attendees to confront them. The individual's behavior did not meet the threshold for contact by law enforcement personnel. An officer contacted the complainant, explained the situation and the complainant agreed that no law enforcement contact should be made.

Welfare Check
Officer located the female and checked her welfare. She stated she was on her way back to her apartment.

Citizen Contact
Three out of state adult males arrived in Provo to go to the football game. The males attended the dance in Lot 45 and brought a case of beer with them, not knowing alcohol was not permitted. When asked by event staff to leave the dance due to having alcohol with them, the three males complied and left the area without incident. No action was required by police.

Citizen Assist
An officer was dispatched to a report of a vehicle theft. The vehicle was located by the owner who remembered that she left it parked at the Front Runner train station.

Disorderly
An officer was dispatched to Miller Park on a report of two individuals who had been asked to leave the baseball game for going onto the field. When the officer arrived, the suspects were gone.

Welfare Check
The officer contacted the complainant via phone to gather further details about her roommate who has not been seen in a week and a half. The officer made contact with the subject and found them to be ok. No further action was taken.

Juvenile Problem
Upon arrival, the officer patrolled the area in an attempt to locate two boys doorbell ditching. The officer was unable to locate the juveniles.

Tickling Disturbance
Officers met with the complainant who reported hearing screaming and thumping in an upstairs apartment in the stairwell. The officers contacted the residents of the apartment and found they were having a mutual tickling match.

Business License
When the officers arrived, they met with the business owner and asked them if they had authorization from BYU to operate in the lot. They advised that they were unaware that they were operating on BYU property and stated that they did not have authorization. The business owner was cooperative, agreed to leave, and did so without incident.

Trespassing
An Officer was dispatched to a report of three individuals filming interviews of students on the south side of the Wilkinson Student Center. The call was forward to BYU Security. BYU Security made contact with the individuals and asked them to leave. BYU Security reported that they left without incident.
