Threatening
BYU Police responded to a report of a social media threat in which an individual threatened to shoot football fans. Officers promptly notified BYU Detectives, who confirmed that the case had already been addressed by SIAC and the FBI. The suspect had already been arrested prior to the police response. The related case number will be attached to this report.

Ban Letter Served
A ban letter was issued to a social media influencer who repeatedly attempted to interview BYU students on campus without proper authorization. Despite clear university policies prohibiting such activities without prior approval, the individual continued to engage in unauthorized interviews.

Fire – Alarm
A police officer responded to a fire alarm at a residence on WT. Upon arrival, the officer contacted the resident, who explained that the alarm was triggered due to a cooking accident. There was no fire or smoke damage observed, and the resident ventilated the area by opening a window.

Information
A BYU Police officer responded to a report of a minor traffic incident involving a vehicle pulled into a parking stall, which was touching the front bumper of the reporting party’s vehicle. The caller wanted to document the situation in case of any damage. Upon backing out of the stall, the vehicle owner confirmed no damage had occurred and decided not to pursue a police report.

Campus Alarms
During the reporting period, police responded to a total of eight campus alarms, providing assistance to BYU Security officers as needed.
