Suspicious Person
During rivalry week, BYU officers responded to a report of four individuals dressed in black attempting to place black tape on the BYU campus sign, which was protected by heavy plastic to prevent graffiti. The suspects were detected by BYU security while attempting to affix the tape and quickly fled the scene before law enforcement arrived. BYU security promptly removed the tape from the sign. Officers conducted extra patrols around both signs for the remainder of their shift. The early detection and swift response by BYU security were instrumental in addressing the incident.

Traffic Offense
A report has been filed regarding a vehicle that was observed running a red light on South Campus Drive. A witness provided a photograph of the vehicle, including details about its description, location, and the time of the incident. Currently, the officer is working to identify the driver involved in the violation.

Theft
A battery charger for an electric scooter was stolen from the bike rack at May Hall. The scooter was locked and charging at the time. The resident assistant at May Hall, who reported the theft, hopes it was borrowed or mistaken for someone else's. She has shared information about the theft and is seeking any tips or details from other students. Currently, there are no suspects or surveillance footage related to the incident.

Medical
A minor injury was reported at the RB swimming pool involving a swimmer/diver who sustained an abrasion on their ear during diving practice. Provo EMS, BYU EMS, and BYU police responded to the scene. The patient was treated on-site and later released.

Citizen Contact
The complainant, a construction worker assigned to the new Arts Building project, reported a suspected incident of intentional damage to his vehicle. He stated that he believed someone may have deliberately placed a screw in his tire while it was parked in Lot #2 near the Museum of Art (MOA). The complainant typically parks near the construction zone. Upon investigation, the officer reviewed security footage but found no evidence of criminal mischief or intentional damage. The screw appears consistent with a typical road hazard likely picked up while driving. This report is being documented for informational purposes only.

 Information
The Director of Event Management, along with multiple officers, responded to Lot 49 to address a group of students camping out in preparation for an upcoming football game. During the response, ten individuals were identified as engaging in this type of activity and were instructed to leave immediately or face charges of Criminal Trespassing. The students complied, agreed to leave, and were documented for record-keeping purposes before being released. Officers also informed those present that any property left behind, including tents, camping chairs, blankets, and a mattress, would be disposed of accordingly.

Found Property
A complainant discovered a BYU ID on the ground in the parking lot near the Police Department. The ID belonged to a faculty member, who was quickly contacted. At her request, the ID was placed on the office staff's desk in the Kimball Tower building, 10th floor, for her to pick up when she returned to work.

Harassment
The complainant and his fiancé reported harassment from the complainant's ex-girlfriend and her sister, who were allegedly contacting them and spreading slanderous remarks. The complainant requested only documentation at this stage, preferring no further contact, and had since blocked the suspects and asked his family to do the same.

Criminal Mischief
Early this morning, someone deliberately tampered with the women's bathroom in the RS building by clogging all four toilets with paper towels, resulting in a flood of fecal matter. The act appears intentional, and a possible suspect is a former employee who was terminated last month. The case has been referred to Investigations for further follow-up.
