Suspicious
On October 18, 2025, at approximately 0103 hours, this officer was dispatched to investigate a potential harassment incident involving a BYU student. The student reported receiving a text message stating, "hi saw you and your friends at the airport; took a picture of you guys and found your number through a website **." The student, who had been at the airport picking up friends, expressed concern that she might be under surveillance. Upon further investigation, it was confirmed that the sender of the message was the victim's cousin. The victim's mother was also notified of the incident due to her concern for her daughter's safety.

Extortion/Fraud
A concerned individual reported an attempted extortion involving a VSCO account. The suspect demanded photos from the complainant and sent a check to their online account, which was later confirmed fraudulent by the complainant’s bank. The suspect also threatened to send threatening videos and coercively demanded money to an account of their choosing. Law enforcement officials gathered information, documented the incident, and referred the case to Investigations for further follow-up.

Harassment
An officer responded to Parking Lot 45 after a BYU student reported individuals wearing red and black short- sleeve shirts with derogatory messages. During the patrol through the area, no individuals matching the description were located.

Medical
An officer responded to Heritage 15 regarding a student experiencing an allergic reaction to a food item they had consumed. Provo EMS responded and evaluated the student. The student was still experiencing the effects of the allergic reaction, and the medics transported the student to Utah Valley Hospital.

Lost Property
The complainant reports losing his Visa Border Crossing Card at Harry Reed International Airport in Las Vegas, Nevada. He arrived on an international flight from Monterrey, Mexico, and the incident occurred on August 25, 2025. The loss was reported to the airport's recovery services. The complainant is now seeking to replace the lost document and requires a police report from the local police department in his place of residence to proceed with the replacement process.

Suspicious
A report was received about a suspicious male on campus, who was reportedly removing BYU flags near LVES. Campus officers located and contacted the individual in the area, later escorting him away from the vicinity. As of now, no criminal charges have been filed.

Traffic Accident
An officer responded to a minor accident in Lot #45 during the football game. A report was filed.

Welfare Check
A concerned parent requested a welfare check after being unable to contact their son for several hours. An officer responded to Heritage 9 and located the student at their apartment. The officer delivered the parent's message, and the student assured the officer they would contact their parent immediately.

Trespassing Unfounded
Officers responded to the North University Fields on a report of trespassing. A concerned person reported a group of Utah fans wearing red had jumped the fence and were playing ball on the closed field. The officers checked the fields, but no one was on them. A large group of Utah fans was tailgating in Lot 61, but none of them were on the field.

Trespassing
Police officers patrolling the BYU vs. U of U game apprehended two juvenile males who scaled the fence at Lavell Edwards Stadium to gain unlawful admission to the game. The juveniles were released to their parents and charges were submitted to the juvenile court.

Trespassing
During the BYU vs. U of U game, police officers apprehended an adult male who had jumped a fence and trespassed into the stadium to watch the event. The individual was issued a citation and advised that he was not permitted to return to BYU premises for the night.

Suspicious
Officers from the Brigham Young University Police Department (BYU PD) responded to a report of suspicious activity at Lavell Edwards Stadium (LVES) during the BYU vs. University of Utah football game. Three males were allegedly attempting to gain unauthorized access to the stadium. Upon arrival, police conducted a foot patrol and discovered that the South gate was unlocked. A BYU employee was summoned to secure the gate with a padlock. However, the three males had already departed by the time police arrived, and no further action was taken.

Suspicious
Three white male suspects in their early 20s, dressed in blue and carrying a blue BYU flag, were seen jumping onto a golf cart and driving around Heritage while yelling and screaming. They nearly collided with RP before parking the golf cart and fleeing on foot upon hearing security was being called. A search of the area was conducted, but the suspects were not located. Video footage showed the suspects leaving in a silver passenger car; however, the footage was not clear enough to identify them. No injuries, property damage, or damage to the golf cart occurred, and the cart was returned to its original location. Officers cleared the scene.

Accident
A BYU shuttle bus was reported to have struck a vehicle in parking lot 58. Authorities are currently attempting to identify the bus driver, but there has been no response when contacted. The incident is under investigation, and updates will follow. To be continued...
