Accident – Hit and Run The complainant observed a smaller white pickup truck backing into an unoccupied black Toyota passenger car in the parking lot. Neither vehicle has filed a report. Suspect information is available, but details about the victim's vehicle are currently unknown.
Medical BYU Police were dispatched to HR for a sick student. Provo EMS and BYU EMS personnel responded and evaluated the student. The student was cleared at the scene and EMS personnel did not need any law enforcement assistance.
Criminal Mischief The complainant reported that his vehicle's mirror had partially melted during the day. It appeared that an external source of heat may have been used to cause the damage. To determine whether the issue was due to an internal electronic malfunction, the vehicle owner planned to have the car inspected by the manufacturer. No suspects were identified, and there is no footage from nearby cameras to assist in the investigation.
Suspicious A report was received about a suspicious container along the walking path above the indoor tennis courts. An officer responded and found a small ammo can filled with geocache notes and memorabilia. The cache appeared to have been in use for some time, but there was nothing suspicious or concerning about its contents.
Welfare Check BYU Police were dispatched to a welfare check regarding a student who had not been responding to texts or phone calls. Officers located the student at her apartment where she advised that she was fine and did not need any assistance.
Medical A report was filed for an adult female BYU student who twisted her ankle while on the stairs at ESC. BYU EMS, accompanied by BYU Police, responded to provide aid and assistance. They wrapped her ankle, checked her blood pressure, and took her temperature. After evaluation and treatment on scene, the patient was released.
Accident – Hit and Run A BYU police officer responded to a report of vehicle damage in Lot 27. After reviewing camera footage, the officer determined that the damage did not occur on campus today. The vehicle owner was informed of the findings and agreed that the damage could have happened elsewhere.
Medical A call was made to the BYU Police Department reporting an injury at the north university intramural fields. Upon arrival, officers found the Provo Fire Department already on scene, followed shortly by BYU EMS. After the fire department completed their assessment, it was decided that the injured individual would be transported to the hospital by friends for further evaluation
