Agency Assist A detective from a different jurisdiction reached out to assist with a case involving a sexual assault of a BYU student. The investigating officer holds a warrant to seize the student's phone, which was forwarded to the BYU investigator. The detective is currently in the process of locating the student to execute the warrant and seize the device for further investigation.
Agency Assist Provo PD requested a Spanish speaking Officer assist them with a Domestic Violence investigation. The Officer responded to the scene and provided translation for the investigating Officer. This case resulted in the arrest of the suspect. This incident was captured and documented by the investigating Officers’ body camera.
Welfare Check A law enforcement officer responded to the HGB Testing Center for a welfare check after reports that a student with narcolepsy had been testing for over five hours and might miss a flight. Upon arrival, the officer observed the student actively working on camera, and staff confirmed the student's identity. Dispatch notified the complainant, who confirmed that as long as the student remained awake and testing, no further action or disturbance was necessary.
Accident – Hit and Run A report was received regarding a hit and run incident in Lot 6. The officer took the report via phone at the request of the reporting party.
Suspicious An officer responded to the north side of the LSB, where three cardboard boxes and two large trash bags containing what appeared to be aluminum wrap from insulating pipe were found. The materials had been discarded along South Campus Drive for pickup, likely from construction activity. Dispatch was unaware of any ongoing construction inside the LSB but planned to contact building care the following morning to arrange for the removal of the materials.
Accident – Scooter vs. Vehicle A female student was involved in an accident near the north side of the CSC, where she was struck by a vehicle while riding a scooter. She sustained an injury to her knee but was not transported to the hospital. An accident report was filed to document the incident.
