Medical A 21-year-old BYU student was feeling faint at the JFSB. Medical staff provided care and the student was later released.
Citizen Contact A computer believed to be missing was found in the office after being turned in by staff. The officer made contact by phone to gather information and shortly afterward, the computer was located in a classroom and later brought to the front desk. It was then returned to its owner.
Property Damage A police officer was dispatched to Lot 33 in response to a delayed property damage report. The complainant, along with some employees, explained that a light cyan four-door sedan hit a BYU Grounds storage shed while they were inside. The damage was minor, and the driver was not seen. The complainant requested a report for documentation purposes and provided photos of the damage which were attached to the case. Surveillance footage revealed no recordings of the incident.
Medical A female adult riding her scooter fell on campus drive at Maeser Hill, injuring her knee. An officer arrived at the scene immediately and summoned BYU EMS, who provided first aid for a knee contusion. Provo EMS also responded, offering additional care and comfort. The patient was then released into the care of a family member and left the scene to go home.
Fall A man with a prosthetic leg fell in front of the broadcast building while walking to his car, hearing it snap upon impact. BYU EMS and Provo paramedics responded promptly to assist him.
Information A report was received of an unidentified individual attempting to gather information and conduct surveys on political issues from people on campus. The officer contacted security management and the Dean of Students for guidance; however, security was unavailable, and the Dean’s office was closed when the officer attempted to reach them in person. The officer later responded to a nearby location near the WSC to observe the area and found no suspicious or criminal activity.
Found Property A wallet was discovered in a practice room on the 4th floor of the music building. The owner is not a student and appears to have no legitimate reason for being there. Surveillance footage shows the owner, along with a female companion, checking inside multiple rooms. Both individuals have criminal histories, including arrests for burglary. The building manager and security were provided with a photo of the suspects and instructed to contact police if they are found.
