Trespassing Two individuals were reported trespassing in Brigham Square after soliciting without permission, according to a complaint received through library security. Officers responded and discovered the individuals were campus students promoting an AI club and distributing free Chick-fil-a sandwiches. It was determined that there may have been miscommunication, and the students were advised to contact campus scheduling to arrange a proper time to promote their club.
Medical A report was received regarding an adult male outside contractor working in the construction area of the Fine Arts Building. The worker appeared to experience a medical issue, possibly fainting or having a seizure. BYU police responded to the scene, observed the individual to be conscious, breathing, and alert, with no visible injuries. Provo EMS arrived, provided on-site treatment, and then transported the worker to the hospital for further evaluation.
Accident – Hit & Run A hit-and-run incident was reported in the parking area near the outdoor tennis courts. The damaged vehicle was parked unoccupied in the lot for most of Thursday and sustained minor, superficial damage to the front bumper. No injuries were reported or observed. There are no known witnesses or responsible parties, and the area lacks surveillance coverage. The damage is estimated to be under $2,500. The incident scene was photographed, and a case number was provided to the vehicle owner.
Found Property A person found a license plate and brought it to the police department. An officer contacted the owner, who confirmed she had lost it and had it replaced several months ago and she didn't need the plate. The officer then cut up and discarded the original plate, which was never reported missing or stolen and is not listed in NCIC.
Medical A police officer responded to a trailhead following a report of a person experiencing a seizure. Upon arrival, Provo medics assessed a female in a vehicle, initially suspected of having a seizure. However, medics determined she was experiencing a panic attack. They successfully calmed her down, and she left the scene with friends.
Noise Complaint An officer responded to a noise complaint at Wymount 13C regarding loud work on a vehicle in the parking lot. Upon arrival, the officer identified the individual working on their truck and advised them of the noise ordinance and upcoming enforcement hour. The individual agreed and completed their work for the night to prevent further issues.
