Information
An officer responded to the BYU Broadcasting Building regarding a delayed comment about "suicide" left on a video-sharing platform concerning a video posted on YouTube. The officer did not see an immediate threat from the comment. Dispatch checked to see if a student went by the name mentioned in the post and could not find a BYU student or employee with that name. Investigations will look into the incident further.

Criminal Mischief
An officer responded to Lot 37 regarding a case of criminal mischief. An unknown individual had keyed a vehicle in the parking lot. The officer arrived and photographed the damage. The officer checked surveillance footage, but nothing was captured on camera. Officers have explored numerous avenues to gather information about the suspect.

Fire Alarm
Officers responded to the University Laundry Building after receiving a report of smoke that had no odor but was irritating employees' eyes. When the officers arrived, all employees were evacuating the building. The officers contacted a salt pump truck that was preparing to leave. Provo Fire arrived and determined that the pump truck had pumped salt into the water softener, and the container bag over the salt holding tank was open, resulting in a cloud of salt dust in the lobby area. The situation was not harmful and was merely an irritant. The fire department stayed on-scene to investigate further.

Information
A student was served legal papers regarding parental guardianship, which caused them significant anxiety. An officer met with the student and helped explain the legal papers they had received, as well as the need for legal counsel from an attorney. The officer suggested that the student continue to work with the victim's advocate when they returned to work.
