Suspicious A police officer observed a vehicle with its trunk and driver door open parked next to an auto shop business just off campus, where the lights were mostly off except for background lighting. Inside, a male was present. Upon contact, he was identified as the business owner's son, who had keys to the building. Although he is a parolee with a criminal history, everything checked out, and no violations were observed at this time. Provo PD responded and documented the situation.
Medical A male basketball player at the MTC gymnasium collapsed suddenly during a game, prompting officers and Provo Fire personnel to respond. Arriving on scene, officers found the individual already receiving CPR from emergency responders. He was then transported by ambulance to Utah Valley Hospital for further care. His parents were contacted by the MTC and emergency personnel. The cause of the collapse remains unknown.
Accident – Lot 26 A BYU police officer responded to a single-vehicle accident in the new parking lot west of the JRCB. The driver of a black Ford Expedition drove into a raised concrete pit while pulling out diagonally from a stall. The vehicle was later towed by AM/PM Towing with AAA.
Information A BYU officer discovered a vehicle running in Lot 16. After inspecting the area, they found no one nearby and confirmed the vehicle's campus affiliation, noting a citation marked as "deferred missionary." While checking another vehicle, the officer observed the vehicle in question leaving the area.
