Welfare Check
A third-party request prompted a welfare check on an individual potentially in crisis after a national suicide hotline text indicated possible suicidal intent. Dispatch attempted contact via phone and text with no response. The individual’s possible location was identified in a neighboring jurisdiction, which was notified to assist in the response.

Accident
An accident occurred in Lot 34 involving two vehicles. The driver of a black Toyota 4Runner accidentally clipped a parked gray Toyota Camry, causing the front bumper of the Camry to become partially dislodged.

Accident
A white Subaru Forester was parked in lot 49 during a high school graduation event. While the driver and passengers were away from the vehicle, an unknown car sideswiped it and fled the scene. The Subaru was parked near a corner where vehicles frequently turned, and surveillance footage revealed that nearby trees obstructed the view of the incident. A note was found on the vehicle that read, "I am so sorry, someone came around the corner and hit me into you," suggesting that the driver was attempting to hide their actions from potential witnesses. The case is under investigation.

Trespassing
The BYU police department received a complaint of trespassing on the North university fields. A coach who arrived a few minutes before police, was able to verify that the male individual was one of the lacrosse players that had arrived early for practice, no action was taken.

Citizen Dispute
Officers responded to the LSB regarding a citizen dispute between the complainant and another party. Upon arrival, the other party had already left the scene. The dispute was centered around the failure to wipe off whiteboards after writing what appeared to be school-related work. No criminal activity was identified during the incident.

Accident – Hit and Run
An officer responded to a hit-and-run incident in Lot 20. After reviewing security footage of the accident, the officer was unable to determine the vehicle's license plate. A formal accident report will be completed, and the case will be referred for further investigation.

Suspicious Activity
The complainant reported observing three children climbing into the enclosure near the generator by the LSB, dressed in T-shirts and basketball shorts. An inspection of the generator enclosure and surrounding area revealed no one inside or present nearby, and no damage or items were missing. The children could not be located during the follow-up search.

Theft
A police officer was dispatched to assist a complainant regarding a delayed theft of a scooter from Wymount Terrace. The complainant reported that two scooters had been stolen within the past week. They provided the serial number for one of the stolen scooters and indicated that an AirTag was attached to the other scooter. The officer listed the stolen scooter in the NCIC database.

Theft
A police officer responded to a report concerning a delayed bicycle theft at Wymount Terrace. The complainant provided a description of the stolen bicycle but was unable to offer additional identifying details. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Lost Property
An officer responded to a call regarding an employee who had lost BYU keys. After taking the report, the officer provided the complainant with a case number to facilitate further assistance through the BYU Key Shop.

Theft
An officer was dispatched to respond to a report regarding a delayed bicycle theft at Wymount Terrace. The complainant provided a description of the stolen bicycle but lacked additional identifying details.

Student Contact
A reporting party contacted the officer to report a theft of her scooter from the Smith Field House (SFH) between 11:00 and 13:00. She initially reported that her scooter, which was left unlocked, was missing upon her return. Later, she called back to inform that she had located the scooter a short distance from the original location.

Property Damage
The BYU Police Department received a report from an employee of GSL Electric indicating that the windshield of one of their work vans had been shattered earlier that day. Surveillance footage revealed that refrigeration employees working on the roof inadvertently dropped an object while climbing a ladder, which struck and damaged the van’s windshield. The GSL Electric employee confirmed that contact has been made with the refrigeration company, and arrangements are underway to repair the broken windshield.

Fire – Hazmat Incident
A hazmat incident occurred at Richards Building when an employee mistakenly mixed chlorine and muriatic acid, believing they were the same chemical. This combination triggered a dangerous chemical reaction. The Provo Fire Department was dispatched to assist with risk management and ensure safety. No further police action was required, and the situation was resolved without incident.

Trespassing
Officer responded to the IPF after a group of juveniles was found playing soccer inside. Upon contact, the juveniles explained that they had entered after discovering the doors open and believed they could play there since the doors were accessible. Officers informed them that all facilities at BYU are private and require scheduling for use. The group complied and left the premises without incident.

Medical
An officer responded to Smith Field House following an injury in the weight room. A student was preparing to lift weights and was stretching when he dislocated his shoulder. Provo EMS arrived on scene, provided treatment, and transported the student on a gurney. Once the student relaxed his muscles, his shoulder spontaneously realigned. The EMS team released him to a friend for transportation to the hospital.

Sick Person
BYU Police responded to a reported sick person at the HBLL. Provo EMS arrived on scene, assessed the individual, and determined she was in good condition and didn’t need further medical attention.

Citizen Contact
A BYU security officer observed an older, disoriented woman walking eastbound on South Campus Drive while pulling a suitcase. Police officers responded to assist and discovered that she was visiting from out of state and was unfamiliar with the campus. They helped her locate her vehicle in lot 26 so she could leave.

Welfare Check
During routine patrols through Heritage Halls, a police officer noticed a male sleeping on an air vent outside Heritage 16. Recognizing the cold and rainy weather that night, the officer approached to assist. Upon inquiry, it was confirmed that the individual was an FSY employee who had arrived a day early and lacked an overnight accommodation. To ensure his safety and comfort, the officer granted him access to the commons area of the JKB, providing a warm, dry place to rest until the building opened for church services.

Accident – Rollover
Single Vehicle Accident on Cougar Blvd: A single vehicle accident occurred on Cougar Blvd near the Parking Terrace, north of the Tanner Building. The pickup truck, which was not affiliated with BYU, left the roadway, overturned and came to a stop upside down adjacent to the Parking Terrace. No injuries were reported; however, Provo EMS was summoned to evaluate occupants for medical clearance. The vehicle was removed from the scene by a local towing company. The incident resulted in some damage to BYU grounds, and the grounds maintenance team was notified and responded accordingly. Additional details and reports are pending.

Unsecured Gate
During a routine patrol of Helaman Halls and Miller Field, an officer discovered the south man gate to Miller Field left open and unsecured. The officer closed and secured the gate, ensuring the safety and security of the baseball field.

Medical
BYU Police responded to the Smith Field House to assist a person with a dislocated shoulder. BYU and Provo EMS arrived on scene, evaluated the individual, and transported him to the hospital for further treatment.

Citizen Contact
BYU Police responded to a report of possible criminal mischief in Lot 41 after a vehicle owner discovered a glue or paint-like substance deliberately applied to their truck while unattended. The owner was able to remove the substance without damage and requested officers review camera footage for suspect identification. However, officers found that no surveillance cameras covered the area where the vehicle was parked, and no suspects were identified.

Suspicious
BYU Police responded to the Tanner Building after a report of suspicious males acting abnormally and hiding in the bushes. Upon investigation, officers determined the individuals were simply using the area privately to smoke cigarettes, with no illegal activity involved. The complainant was informed of the findings, and the case was closed.

Fire – Inspection
Officer responded to Wymount 17 regarding a vehicle fire report. Upon arrival, they found the vehicle and its registered owner; the vehicle was not on fire. The owner explained that the car leaks oil and smokes slightly.

Medical
BYU Police and Provo Fire responded to the Richards Building Field intramural field after a player reported a shoulder injury. EMTs treated and evaluated the individual on-site. The individual was released.

Suspicious Circumstances
Officers responded to East Campus (Wasatch Elementary School) following an anonymous tip about three or four Latino juveniles, mostly dressed in black, possibly vaping near the building. After checking the exterior and interior, they found no one matching the description. Conversations with the building manager and custodial staff also yielded no sightings. As the report was anonymous.

Found Property
A building care employee discovered a wallet while cleaning the baseball stadium after a game. An officer identified the owner and contacted the owner.

Fire Alarm
Officers were dispatched to the Missionary Training Center (MTC) following a fire alarm; however, the alarm was canceled by MTC Security before their arrival. The Provo Fire Department responded to the scene to assess the situation.

Citizen Contact
An officer responded to a citizen assist at the UPB after a male caller was verbally aggressive and made a remark that some church authorities would be going to hell. No threats were made. The caller was blocked from further contact. Officers attempted to reach the caller but were unsuccessful.

Citizen Contact
An officer met with a BYU employee and her supervisor at the CSC to discuss an incident near the campus floral. The employee reported that yesterday morning, she observed a man in his 30s walking in the area. He approached her claiming he was jogging the previous night and had lost his cell phone. She pointed out the phone on the ground about 10 feet behind him, which he retrieved on camera. Following this, he engaged in a brief conversation and then told her she was beautiful before leaving. The employee expressed feeling uncomfortable and suspected the man may have staged the phone loss to approach her. Camera footage revealed the man was not seen prior to the interaction and left after recovering the phone. The officer showed the employee the footage for review.

Medical
An officer responded to MLRP for a medical incident. Upon arrival, EMS checked the area, but no patient was found. The area was crowded due to ongoing events, and no emergencies were reported by anyone at this time.

Theft
An officer responded to a report of a stolen Apple TV streaming device from room 229 at the University Parkway Center. The device, small enough to fit in a pant pocket, was reported missing. Surveillance footage was reviewed with dispatch, but no suspects were identified on the video. The stolen item has been entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database.

Vandalism
A complainant reported that her vehicle was hit with what appeared to be white paint balls sometime between 0800 and 1130 hours today. The responding officer observed 20-25 impact marks consisting of a white, easily removable paint substance, with all marks being round and consistent with paintball hits. No damage was noted. Photographs of the vehicle's markings were taken and will be attached to the case file. Further investigation is ongoing.

Medical
An officer responded to the Museum of Paleontology parking lot after a school bus driver, feeling faint, pulled over. Provo EMS arrived, evaluated the driver on scene, and later released him after he felt safe to drive.

Suspicious
A student reported a suspicious encounter in the Life Science Building around 5:00 p.m. She described a male approximately 20 years old who approached her and sat at her table, asking numerous questions. After she took the elevator to a different floor, she observed the individual walking past her again, which heightened her feeling of being watched. Concerned about her safety, she requested BYU Police to review surveillance footage to identify the individual. The Dispatch Center is currently examining the security camera recordings for any relevant images.

Accident
A blue Toyota Camry backed out of a parking space in lot 16 and collided with a white Subaru Outback, resulting in minimal damage to both vehicles. No injuries were reported. The incident has been documented as a non-reportable accident.

Gas Smell
Officer responded to HR 3 for a reported gas smell. Provo Fire Department and BYU Housing also responded to the scene. No gas was detected.

Welfare Check
Officers responded to MLRP for a welfare check after a caller reported a male walking around the park and talking to himself. Upon contact, the individual stated he was searching for a friend named Todd. He was advised to leave the campus and complied. This individual has been on campus twice within the past week, resulting in previous calls to dispatch.

Medical
An officer responded to Richards Building regarding an injured intramural player. BYU EMS also arrived and provided a medical assessment, during which the patient declined transportation to the hospital. The patient was released in accordance with EMS protocols.

Citizen Contact – Hit and Run
A report was received regarding a hit-and-run incident in the parking lot of the Richards Building. Officers responded to the scene but did not observe any damage on the reported vehicle that could be attributed to a recent incident. Officers are reviewing surveillance footage and will continue to investigate.

Unsecure Gate
The BYU Dispatch center received a report from Sunroc Construction indicating that vehicles were illegally entering the construction site through an access gate. In response, officers were dispatched to Wymount Terrace to secure the gate adjacent to the foreign language housing, which provides access to Temple View Drive.

Suspicious
A citizen reported a suspicious incident involving a male near the Richards Building, who had whistled at a female and was later observed sitting in the area watching passersby. No criminal activity was identified, and no further action was taken.

Theft
An officer responded to a report regarding a delayed bicycle theft at the Riviera. The complainant had secured their bicycle with a cable lock to a bike rack but discovered it was missing later that day. The lock had been cut, indicating theft. Despite checking with the apartment manager and inspecting all nearby bike racks, the bicycle could not be located.

Medical
An officer responded to a medical call on the 2nd floor of the Life Sciences Building, arriving with Provo Fire Department and BYU EMS. The patient was experiencing dizziness and blurred vision. During the assessment, it was found that her blood sugar level was elevated at 375. She received treatment on scene and was released into the care of her daughter.

Accident – Hit and Run
An officer responded to a hit-and-run incident at Lot 39, located between the SAB and the Richards Building (RB). The victim, who had parked there earlier after weight training at the SAB, returned to find damage on the right side of his rear bumper. Authorities are reviewing nearby security camera footage to identify the suspect responsible for the damage.

Medical
An officer and Provo Paramedics responded to the Brimhall Building following a report of a female who had collapsed in the hallway. Upon arrival, paramedics assessed her condition and determined she had experienced a seizure. The female requested to be transported to Utah Valley Hospital for further evaluation and care.

Information
A third-party report was received regarding a potential violation of a civil stalking injunction. Officers responded to the BYU campus Richards Building, where they contacted the petitioner, who reported seeing the respondent in the same building. A search of the area was conducted on foot and via patrol vehicle, but the respondent was not located. A license plate reader identified a vehicle registered to the respondent in the vicinity during the relevant time frame, leading officers to believe the respondent had left campus. There was no ongoing threat at this time, and the petitioner was escorted to their vehicle with an immediate safety plan in place. The case remains under investigation.

Suspicious
An officer responded to the Crabtree building following a report of a college-aged, white male running southbound from the location, waving a large white flag and yelling. Upon arrival, the officer found the area clear, with no one present.

Unsecured Door
An officer responded to the Brewster Building on a held-door 100. The officer secured the door and performed a security check of the property.

Unsecured Gate
During a routine patrol, an officer discovered the main gate at the NCAA Track open and unsecure. The officer checked the facility but did not find anyone present. Afterward, the officer closed and locked the gate, securing the premises.

Fire – Smoke Alarm
Report of a Fire at WyMount International Housing. A caller reported a problem with an appliance plug in the residence. No active fire was observed, but a fire extinguisher had been deployed on a smoking appliance, believed to be a crock pot. Provo Fire/EMS responded, contacted the resident, and confirmed there was no medical need or ongoing emergency. They assisted in clearing fumes from the apartment using their fan equipment. The resident suspects the crock pot caused the incident. Housing facilities were notified to replace or recharge the fire extinguisher.

Animal Problem
An officer responded to a report of ducklings trapped in a storm drain. Upon arrival, the officer observed the wildlife within the drain and attempted to retrieve them. However, the ducks moved further down the pipe out of sight, and the attempt was unsuccessful. Due to safety concerns and the inaccessibility of the location, the effort was concluded without rescue.

Breathing Problem
An officer assisted medical personnel with a 20-year-old female patient experiencing sudden difficulty breathing. The patient has prescribed medication and an inhaler. After evaluation on scene by Provo paramedics, her symptoms improved following the use of her inhaler and medication, and she was later released.

Trespassing
Three males were seen by MTC security leaving the MTC grounds. One of these individuals was seen on the roof of the UPB at which time MTC security contact BYU police. The suspect was located and identified by police and later trespassed.

Campus Alarms
Officers also responded to 14 campus alarms during this reporting period.

Welfare Check
Officers responded to the Wilkinson Student Center to conduct a welfare check after a complainant expressed concern that a subject nearby appeared to be experiencing mental health symptoms. The suspect had already left the area prior to the officers' arrival. Officers performed extra patrols in the WSC and surrounding vicinity.

Accident
An officer responded to Lot 37 regarding a parking accident. The incident occurred when a vehicle attempting to park swung too wide, colliding with a parked vehicle in the adjacent stall. Both vehicle owners were present at the scene and exchanged personal information.

Fire – Gas Smell
An officer responded to the Engineering Building following a Low Airflow Low Pressure Alarm. The alarm placard directed callers to Risk Management, who then referred the students to Police Dispatch. Provo Fire responded to the scene and confirmed there were no gas leaks or hazardous fumes present. The officer then left a voicemail for the professor listed on the lab entrance.

Welfare Check
Officers from BYU and Provo responded to YMLRP for a welfare check after a report of a male pacing and attempting to enter a construction area. Upon contact, they confirmed he was experiencing a mental health crisis and hearing voices. It was also discovered that he had called 911, believing he heard a domestic violence incident. The individual was asked to leave the area and complied, and no further action was required.

Campus Alarms
Officer also responded to eight campus alarms and several lockouts to assist students, faculty and staff.
