Officers responded to a medical emergency at Wymount involving a 23-year-old male with a history of diabetes. The individual was found standing but unresponsive. Provo Medics arrived on scene, administered medical treatment, and, out of an abundance of caution, transported him to the UVH Emergency Room for further evaluation until his condition stabilized.
Welfare Check
A concerned individual contacted police to report that their online friend, a non-student, had made suicidal statements and was headed to the Y Mountain trail to potentially harm themselves. BYU officers responded to the Y Trailhead but did not locate the individual. The caller later informed police that the subject had decided not to go to the trail and would remain at home. However, the caller was unable to provide the police with the subject’s physical address or additional contact information beyond their social media account, preventing officers from locating or identifying the individual.
Medical
A female patient sustained a possible injury to her knee after twisting an appendage during indoor practice on the field. BYU EMS, Provo EMS, and BYU police responded to the scene. The patient was provided with an ice wrap and bandage on her knee and was preparing to be transported to the hospital for further evaluation by a family member in a personal vehicle. Although she appeared to be in good overall condition, she reported ongoing knee pain.

BYU Police responded to an athletic field on campus following a report that a soccer player had lost consciousness after a fall during play. The player regained consciousness at the scene, waived initial medical attention, but was able to respond appropriately to questions. The player consented to seek further medical evaluation.
DUI
A BYU Police Officer observed a truck driving on the wrong side of the roadway, nearly causing a head-on collision with an innocent motorist. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle as it ran two red lights and traveled at twice the speed limit. The vehicle eventually pulled over, and the officer discovered the driver was under the influence. The driver was arrested, booked into Utah County Jail, and refused to comply with a signed search warrant for chemical testing, leading to formal charges. A passenger in the vehicle received a criminal citation, and the vehicle was impounded.
Suspicious
A complainant reported that a green pepper was thrown at her vehicle as she was exiting the Heritage parking lot to head northbound on 900 E. The suspect was in a vehicle, but the complainant did not see which vehicle it was or identify the suspect. Her vehicle sustained no damage, and no additional suspect information is available at this time.

A BYU officer assisted Provo Police Department at the scene of a two-car traffic collision at the intersection of University Avenue and Cougar Boulevard. The crash resulted in injuries, and emergency services including Provo EMS, Provo PD, and BYU PD responded to the incident. Support case numbers were generated for documentation purposes.
Fire – Gas Smell
BYU Police and Provo Fire Department responded to an incident at Wymount Terrace 15A following a report of a gas smell in the apartment. Upon arrival, no gas odor was detected by fire personnel or law enforcement, and their carbon monoxide meters confirmed the absence of any lethal gases. BYU Housing was notified of the situation, and no further action was deemed necessary.

A police officer responded to Lot 2 after a BYU employee reported a minor collision involving a BYU-owned vehicle and a parked vehicle. Upon arrival, the officer observed minor damage to rear bumper. The driver said he was backing from a parking stall when he struck the parked vehicle. A report was filed.

Officers responded to investigate the report, but despite thorough checks of the area, they were unable to detect any marijuana odor. Officers continued to patrol the surrounding buildings throughout the evening, but no suspicious activity or evidence was found. The situation remains under observation, with no further incidents reported.

A student injured his shoulder while exercising at the Smith Field House. BYU Police and Provo Fire responded to the scene where Provo Fire personnel treated and evaluated the student. Later, the student was released on-site without the need to be transported to the hospital.
Information
A police officer received a phone report from a BYU employee regarding a potential case of criminal mischief. The employee’s workers discovered a sign featuring a QR code claiming to be affiliated with BYU. However, the QR code directed to a link previously used about a year ago by an unrelated company, indicating it is likely unauthorized and false. The employee noted that similar incidents had occurred before, with individuals posting unauthorized flyers in campus locations such as the library and major food areas and had been instructed not to repeat such actions. Investigation into the linked webpage revealed it was a survey related to healthy food. This report has been prepared for informational purposes.

A report was made regarding an adult female with a bloody nose at the WSC. An officer responded to the scene, contacted the individual, and remained until BYU EMS arrived. The patient was treated on scene and was cleared without further incident.
Suspicious Person
A delayed report was received regarding a suspicious adult male with a dog observed near HL Canon Center, reportedly watching females in the area. Officers, both on foot and in patrol vehicles, responded to the scene approximately 20 minutes after the initial observation. The suspect was seen leaving on foot, but no further suspicious activity or criminal behavior was detected during patrols of the area and Heritage Halls. No additional calls or information have been received. The investigation found no evidence of criminal activity.
Sick Person
BYU EMS and BYU Police were dispatched to the Talmadge Building regarding a sick person. Medical responding to the scene took care of the problem which was very minor.
Injured Person
An officer was dispatched to Heritage Halls regarding a medical incident involving a complainant who accidentally struck her head on her vehicle's trunk, resulting in a bleeding gash. Upon arrival, the officer observed that the bleeding had ceased, and the wound was minor. The officer remained on scene until campus medics arrived and were able to bandage the wound.

BYU EMS and BYU Police responded to the Wilkinson Student Center following a report of a male patient with a foot injury. Upon arrival, law enforcement observed that EMS personnel had already begun treatment and evaluation. EMS confirmed that police assistance was not needed.

On September 8, 2025, a delayed report was received regarding the theft of a flag from the HL parking lot. The theft is believed to have occurred late last night or early this morning. An officer contacted witnesses by phone to collect statements and gather relevant information. Surveillance footage is currently under review, and the case remains under investigation.

A young adult male injured his knee during a basketball game. Medical assessment determined that transportation to a hospital was not necessary, and the patient opted to be taken by a friend for further evaluation. The patient reported a history of previous knee dislocations and noted that the current sensation was like past episodes.

A report was filed after a female witness observed a male student on the roof of the Cannon Center building. She approached him and advised that he was not permitted to be there, at which point he ran away and was not seen again. It was reported that another individual had seen the male climb onto the roof from the northwest side of the building. The witness described the suspect as a white male approximately 19 years old, wearing a maroon t-shirt, tan shorts, and black shoes. Despite efforts, officers were unable to locate or identify the individual.

The complainant discovered a male patient lying on the roadway of Cougar Boulevard between 450 East and Lot 40, near an active electric skateboard. Evidence suggests the patient experienced a fall or collision while riding the skateboard downhill. No witnesses to the incident were present. The patient exhibited head trauma, bleeding from the back of the head, and memory difficulties. He was promptly transported by Provo Medics via ambulance to the UVH Emergency Room. The patient is identified as a non-student.

Sick Person
An officer responded to Wyview Park 14 in response to a report of a sick person. Upon arrival, the officer found a female student who had been released from the hospital earlier that evening after giving birth to a child via C-section. She experienced some complications following the birth and was feeling discomfort. Provo Fire responded and assessed the patient. Finding no reason to transport her to the hospital. She was also told to follow up with her doctor.
Accident
A minor accident occurred in lot 19 in front of the Marriott Center. A report was filed.
Welfare Check
BYU Police were dispatched to a welfare check at the JKB. A student reported that she had received a concerning text message from her friend and wanted to notify law enforcement. An officer met with the student, who advised that he was not suicidal and did not have a plan to harm himself. The student mentioned that he was overwhelmed with school and work responsibilities but was already aware of CAPS and the counseling options available to him, as he had used them in the past. He appreciated the concern and stated that he would notify the appropriate people if he became suicidal.
Information
BYU Police were dispatched to the HRCN building regarding a possible vehicle theft. The reporting party believed that one of their department's golf carts had been stolen. Shortly after speaking with the owner, the golf cart was located near another building on campus, and the owner was notified of its location.
Accident
A vehicle pulled out of his parking stall and said that he had turned too sharply, clipping the bumper of another car. This caused half of the vehicles bumper to come off. The other vehicle had very minimal damage and no injuries were reported. This occurred in lot 59 at the LSB.
Medical
An officer assisted medical personnel with an adult male who had fallen off his bike while going downhill when his chain broke. The male hit his head but never lost consciousness. Medical staff wrapped his head, and he decided to go to the ER with the help of his friend. The medical team locked his bike to a nearby pole, and his friend advised he would pick it up in a couple of hours after the ER visit.
Citizen Contact
BYU Police responded to Lot 45 to assist a vehicle owner after she reported that her car had been scraped. The officer initially could not see any damage to the door, but upon closer inspection, there was very minimal damage that was hardly noticeable. The owner requested that the information be documented but stated she did not need a police report or insurance information.
Found Property
A student found a BYU ID card and brought it to the front desk. The officer contacted the card's owner, and the card was returned. No further action was necessary.
Lost Property
A BYU student reported that he had left his wallet in a rented BYU van during a field trip. The student said that the wallet was tucked between the seats and would be hard to see. The officer was able to identify the van based on the description and located it in van #47 at the motor pool drop-off area. The officer opened the lock box, retrieved the keys to the van, and found the wallet inside. After securing the wallet, the officer returned the keys to the lock box and ensured everything was properly secured. The wallet was later returned to the complainant.

An officer responded to the Richards Building for a medical call involving a student who had fallen while skateboarding and required medical attention. The student was assessed by Provo Fire and BYU EMS and was later released. He was accompanied by a friend who provided him with a ride home.

A BYU student experienced a fainting spell during a social gathering at the Cannon Center conference room. The individual began to feel faint and temporarily lost consciousness. A friend quickly called for medical assistance, prompting responses from Provo Fire and BYU EMS. After assessment, the student was cleared to return to his dorm room accompanied by a friend.

The victim’s bike, which was parked and secured in the bike rack south of the multi-cultural hall, was stolen during this time frame. An officer responded by phone to the incident, but no surveillance cameras in the area captured the theft, and the complainant did not have the bike's serial number. The complainant provided a picture of the bike to assist with identification. The case has been referred to detectives for further investigation.

A police officer took a phone report from the Jesse Knight Building operations manager. The reporting party told the officer that there were three master keys that had gone missing and a fourth key that was found and turned in. The officer provided the reporting party with the case number.
Accident
The officer responded via phone to a delayed, non-reportable traffic accident. After speaking with both parties involved, the officer took the accident report, noting that both parties had already exchanged their information prior to the officer's involvement.
Theft
An officer responded via phone to a reported bike theft that occurred between September 11 and September 15, 2025, at the bike racks in the LSB Parking Garage. The complainant did not have the serial number of the stolen bike but provided a photograph, which will be added to the case file. The bike is distinguished by teal green pedals. An officer responded to Chipman Hall apartments to assist a young female student concerned about her roommate. The student reported that after attending a party, her roommate texted her indicating she would be leaving the event, but upon returning home, she found her roommate was absent and unresponsive to multiple phone calls. The officer contacted the RA and attempted to reach anyone at apartment 3202. When no one answered, the officer opened the door and found the apartment empty. The student was then met outside Taylor Hall, where she was searching for her roommate using her phone's last known location. After several attempts to contact the missing person, the student mentioned a mutual friend who might know her whereabouts. Together, they visited the friend's apartment and successfully located the missing roommate in their room.

The complainant reported their Mega Wheels electric scooter was stolen from the bike rack between the RB and SFH sometime last night. Dispatch found camera footage of two suspects taking the scooter at approximately 0240 hrs. The scooter was chain locked to the bike rack, but the suspects were able to remove the scooter and left the chain lock in place. Case referred to investigation for follow up.

BYU Police and BYU EMS were dispatched to a report of a male with a dislocated pinky finger. EMS advised the officer that no police assistance was needed. No actions taken by police.

Officers observed the individual from a distance and noted no concerning behavior. The subject later boarded a bus and left the area.
