Trespassing – LaVell Edwards Stadium
Dispatch reported a motion alarm from the 3rd floor, prompting officers to search the area. They stopped two 19-year-old male suspects who had jumped a concrete wall into the LaVell Edwards Stadium, entered through an open door into the loge area, and consumed some soda from a fridge. The suspects were cited for trespassing and theft and were escorted off the property.

A security guard reported individuals on the BYU campus field near the RB. Officers responded, spoke with the individuals, and escorted them off the field. No arrests or further police action were required.

The bag, containing several notebooks including an FSY book, suggested it belonged to an FSY participant. The officer placed the backpack in the Lost and Found at the Wilkinson Center.
Traffic Offense
A police officer witnessed a vehicle run a red light at the intersection of 900 N 900 E. The driver admitted to both running the light and texting while driving. Upon further investigation, it was revealed that the adult driver only had a learner's permit and lacked a licensed adult passenger in the vehicle. The driver was cited for running the red light, using a mobile device while driving, and violating the terms of the learner's permit.

A police officer responded to a report of a missing juvenile from FSY, initially called in by counselors. Dispatch informed the officer that an FSY representative had contacted the juvenile's mother, who confirmed she had picked up her son early and had texted the FSY office about checking him out. The FSY representative clarified that this was not the standard check-out procedure, and the missing person report was due to miscommunication. Since the juvenile was with his mother and in no danger, the officer cleared the call without taking further action.

BYU Police responded to a report in lot 37 after a vehicle was found touching another. Upon inspection, no damage was observed to either vehicle, and no further action was necessary.
Animal Problem
Officer responded to the Richards Building area regarding an animal problem after a citizen reported a deer they believed was in distress. Despite efforts to locate the deer, it was not found.
Domestic Violence
BYU officers responded to a report of ongoing domestic violence on campus. Witnesses observed a female screaming as a male attempted to force her into a vehicle parked near the Music Building. Officers located the vehicle and, following an investigation, arrested the male suspect on charges of domestic violence. The suspect was transported to the Utah County Jail.

A police officer responded to a medical incident near WSC involving a 14-year-old male. After meeting with the juvenile, Provo medics checked his vitals and spoke with his parents. No medical treatment was required, and the juvenile was released to FSY staff.

Carbon Monoxide – Alarm
An officer and Provo Fire responded to WP for a carbon monoxide (CO) alarm. Provo Fire ventilated and cleared the area of CO. Housing personnel and a fire technician were also dispatched. Provo Fire contacted the gas company to respond per protocol for CO alarms. After the apartment was aired out and deemed safe, residents were allowed to re-enter.

The BYU Police Department was contacted by an individual requesting a welfare check on a friend attending a campus sports camp who had expressed suicidal ideations. The caller reported receiving a concerning text the previous night in which her friend stated he wanted to end his life and felt that no one would care. Officers located and contacted the individual in question, notified his parents, and assisted in developing a plan to ensure he receives appropriate support and care upon returning home.

An officer responded to the FPH regarding a citizen contact involving a phone call from an upset student. The student had angrily confronted the reporting party about concerns related to his student status and potential termination, which could result in his return to Syria. The officer located and spoke with the student at the library, where he stated the issue had been resolved. The student was calm, expressed remorse, and apologized to the staff members involved. No threats were made, and the student was advised on appropriate ways to address such concerns in the future.

An officer responded to verify a License Plate Reader (LPR) hit on a stolen plate on campus. Upon investigation, it was confirmed that the vehicle's owner had inadvertently left the listed plate on the vehicle while his wife used it on campus. The owner was advised to return the plate and obtain new ones from the DMV.

The BYU Police Department responded to an active fire alarm at the Hinckley Center, with the alarm originating from the 3rd floor. Officers arrived alongside a fire technician and determined that painters working on the floor had accidentally triggered a fire sensor with a paint pole, setting off the alarm. After confirming there was no fire, the technician silenced and reset the alarm system.

An officer responded to the lobby of the JKB for a found property. A staff member found cash near the building at approximately. 1310 hours. There was no information for the owner and the cash was booked into evidence.

An officer responded to a report regarding a possible marijuana blunt found near the bushes of a Heritage Halls building. Upon arrival, the officer met with the complainant, who directed them to the item in question. After examining the object, the officer determined it was an empty cocoon and confirmed it was not drug related.

During routine fire alarm maintenance at the ELLB, electric shop technicians attempted to contact security dispatch to let them know they were testing the system; however, they received no response and initiated testing which caused the alarm. Jeff Tanner, from the electric shop, arrived to reset the system and notified dispatch that testing would proceed as scheduled.
Found Property
An officer with the BYU Police Department responded to Lot 52 in Wyview Mount Terrace, near Laundry Room 5, regarding an old car battery found. The reporting party expressed concern that the battery posed a safety hazard, particularly for children who might play with it and potentially get injured. The owner of the battery was unknown. The officer took possession of the item and transported it to the auto shop for proper disposal.

Lost Property
A BYU student reported losing his backpack, which had been left in the Richards Building overnight. An officer responded to assist and later returned to locate the backpack. The officer recovered the backpack from the building's care room where lost items are stored. No further action was taken. The student provided his BYU ID for identification.
Accident
An officer responded to a traffic accident at Wyview Park, Lot 43. Driver #1, in a black Toyota Camry, reported backing up and striking a white Toyota Camry driven by Driver #2, who was traveling westbound through the lot near the BYU Creamery Store. Both drivers exchanged information, and photos of the damage were collected. The officer also filed an accident report.

After searching the area and retracing her steps, the vehicle was located at the Provo FrontRunner station. She had left it there to take the train to work in Salt Lake and had forgotten about it, as her husband had driven her home that night and she had departed the next day. The vehicle was retrieved without incident.

A BYU student reported losing his backpack, which had been left in the Richards Building overnight. An officer responded to assist and later returned to locate the backpack. The officer recovered the backpack from the building's care room where lost items are stored. No further action was taken. The student provided his BYU ID for identification.
Accident
An officer responded to a traffic accident at Wyview Park, Lot 43. Driver #1, in a black Toyota Camry, reported backing up and striking a white Toyota Camry driven by Driver #2, who was traveling westbound through the lot near the BYU Creamery Store. Both drivers exchanged information, and photos of the damage were collected. The officer also filed an accident report.

A concerned complainant reported her vehicle may have been stolen within the past week and a half. She remembered parking it at her apartment complex before leaving town. An officer responded to Heritage 11 for a medical call. The call involved an FSY counselor who was in her apartment, felt dizzy, and fell against the wall, hitting her head. She stated that she has a history of fainting. Provo Fire and EMS arrived, treating the patient. They did not find anything concerning. She remained in her apartment with her roommate.
Waterflow – Alarm
BYU Police were dispatched to the B66 building for a water flow alarm. Before the police arrived on scene, a BYU technician advised that there was no emergency and that the alarm was a false alarm.
Lost Property
An officer responded to Cougar Field regarding a complaint of a lost Nike backpack. The complainant was attending an FSY night activity with 600 youth on Cougar Field. He was taking pictures and had placed his backpack behind him. When he turned around to retrieve it, the backpack was missing. The backpack was lost on Wednesday, June 18th, sometime between 2010 and 2015 hours. The officer reviewed video footage but was unable to determine who took the backpack. The complainant reported the missing item to the FSY lost and found. Later that same day, the reporting party called back and informed him that he had located his backpack.
Theft
BYU Police were dispatched to Wyview Park regarding a delayed e-bike theft. The owner reported that his lock had been cut, and his e-bike was missing. An officer collected the relevant information and obtained photos of the bike. The owner did not know the serial number of the e-bike, so it will not be listed in NCIC at this time. This information will be forwarded to BYU Investigations for follow-up.

An officer responded to Heritage Halls to assist an FSY counselor experiencing an allergic reaction to his prescription medication. The patient was having difficulty breathing upon the officer's arrival. Provo Fire and EMS arrived and treated the patient, administering an EpiPen injection and starting an IV. The patient was then transported by ambulance to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.
Found Property
The officer responded to the SFH regarding a found cellphone. The phone had been turned in by staff over the past two days. Attempts were made to identify the owner, but only the first name "Finley" was known. The phone will be turned over to the lost and found at the Wilkinson Center at the end of the shift.

BYU Police and Provo Fire responded to a report that a tenant could smell the odor of natural gas in his apartment. The officer asked dispatch to notify BYU Risk Management and BYU Housing. Firefighters measured the air in the apartment for toxic gases. Their readings showed zero parts per million for any toxic substances. The firefighters informed the tenant that his apartment was safe to enter.

An officer was dispatched to the courtyard of the Joseph F. Smith Building, where a For the Strength of Youth (FSY) dance was being held. Upon arrival, he assisted Provo Fire in speaking with a young woman who had twisted her ankle. Provo Fire personnel wrapped her ankle, and both the patient and the FSY attendees declined transportation to a hospital or other facility.

An officer responded to a carbon monoxide (CO) alarm at WT 15E, where Provo Fire and BYU Housing were also present. The tenants outside reported being instructed to leave the apartment with doors and windows closed. Provo Fire tested the air and confirmed hazardous levels of CO, prompting a call to the gas company for further investigation. BYU Housing personnel arrived to assess the situation, and the officer provided all relevant information before clearing the scene. Dispatch confirmed that BYU Risk Management had been notified of the incident

An officer responded to a complaint regarding a homeless individual resting near the southwest side of the USB building. Upon arrival, the officer found the man sitting in the shade, eating food. As the officer approached, the man stood up and began to leave. The officer made contact, asked if he needed assistance, and was assured he did not. The individual was carrying a boxed lunch and a water bottle.

Officers responded to the Tanner building parking lot regarding a female having trouble breathing. Provo medics evaluated her and released her to her husband, with no further action required.

The contractor, Mike, reported that the firearm was no longer present when an employee returned to investigate. He mentioned twelve subcontractors were on site when the handgun was seen and promised to provide their names by June 20th. The officer confirmed that firearms are prohibited on campus, and the contractor acknowledged that such possession violates company policy.

Parents of a BYU student called to report that they had had no contact with their adult daughter since she was taken to the hospital earlier that week by BYU police officers. They were concerned about er safety, as she suffers from multiple mental health issues and could possibly be actively suicidal. Officers checked the student's apartment, the hospital, the security camera system, and spoke with former roommates to locate her. Eventually, it was discovered that the student had left the hospital on the same day she was admitted. Since the hospital is located within Provo jurisdiction and that was her last known location, the case has been transferred to the Provo City Police.

An officer responded to a report involving two teenage girls attending For the Strength of Youth (FSY) at Heritage Halls. The counselor expressed concern after the girls left the building with an unidentified adult male who refused to provide his name. Attempts to contact the girls' parents were unsuccessful; the father declined further communication after a brief exchange. The officer advised the father to contact BYU Dispatch if the girls were not with him, ensuring their safety. The situation was documented, and the parents were notified of the incident.

Medical responded to a report of a severe allergic reaction involving a juvenile FSY participant, BYU Police and Provo Fire arrived to find the patient speaking normally, breathing without difficulty, and showing no signs of distress such as an elevated heart rate. The patient reported swollen tonsils but had been treated with Benadryl by FSY medical staff. After evaluation, firefighters determined there were no life-threatening symptoms, and the patient was not transported to the hospital. The juvenile's parents were notified by FSY staff.
